[Resolved]  ICFAI University — repetitive failing students to earn money

Address:Maharashtra

I , Ms.Bhavi M the student of ICFAI university had appeared for Group I examination in OCT10 and recd the result stating FAILED wherein I scored 41 in Business strategy again I appeared in JAN11 again I FAILED with 40 marks in Business strategy, again I reappeared in APR11 wherein I scored 40 in Business strategy. It is unbelievable wherein a person can score same marks 3 times in theory paper. Its beyond imagination. It purely seems that they are just failing students purposely to earn money in the way of registration fees which is Rs.1000/group. It seems their motto is not to spread education but to earn money and play with students future. This behavior is highly unacceptable.STOP PLAYING WITH STUDENTS FUTURE!!!!

ICFAI University — Not a complaint - Query

Reading through your complaints has scared me, especially the part about ICFAI not being recognized by AICTE. I am a student doing his graduation from ICFAI University & expect to complete it in 2010. I plan to do my Masters from Pune University.
1. Is it possible to get admission into Pune University on the basis of graduation from ICFAI?
2. Is there anyone here who did his graduation from ICFAI & got enrolled in Masters at Pune University?
3. Does anyone know if it is possible?
Regards,
S
Yeah re you really no need to bother all that.
Its completely approved by AICTE.
Just carry on well with your studies and ALL the very best for your admission in Pune University.

Mr Tejas D the student of ICFAI university had appeared for Group G examination in Apr'11 for which i have enrolled for 5 times before & only appered for 3 times but still i have not cleared with the group which is beyond imagination & has broken by moral for studying. Before this in the Group F also i had appered for more than 4 times after which i was able to clear my group F all the sessions i had just being failed for 3-5 marks which normally breaks the moral of the students & due to which after enrolling they are not able to go for examination...

I, Ravi Verma, Student of ICFAI University, Appeared for group G examination 3 times and all the times the result was failed, Before this I cleared all the groups in 1 attempt but now It seems that ICFAI University don't want to pass any student as their fixed income through Registration @ Rs.1000/- per group per student will be stopped so they want to continue their income source,
But who will think of the student, where is education gone??? Is it just a source of generating more and more money .. With this the morale of the student breaks down...
STOP PLAYING WITH STUDENTS FUTURE!!!...

Getting same marks consecutive three times is really questionable???

Yes, a student may fail thrice but not with the same marks and then too in a theory Paper ???

This really need to be put across the Regulators / UGC

hello,

even i agree to the complaint.even i have heard many similar complaints about this university. It seems the university are least interested in acknowledging the students queries. I always believed that spreading education was the sole concern of the university. but even EDUCATION is now BUSINESS.

I[censored]GC is giving grants to such university, than many students future are at stake.

Vision of ICFAI University:
"To be a top ranking private university of choice for students, staff and corporates, recognized for excellence in Higher Education and Research specially relevant to social needs."

People know about the success story about the University, but what about student's who are facing these type of problem.

Who is going to come to their aid?

STOP PLAYING WITH STUDENTS FUTURE!!!
@Ms. Bhavi M - m agree with you.even m facing the same issue..Group J appeared 3 times n failed wih 41 marks...need to know what to do ...[protected]@yahoo.com
Hi,

I am Mehul and support the unethical format and operation pattern of the ICFAI University.

I have seen many of these instances with ICFAI students, it will be a better idea if we create a group on a networking website and register a compaint with UGC.

We can also look at filing an RTI with the local government authorities in writing.
Has anyone filed a complaint with the University ?
Repetitively failing for group G And H
Hi guys I am sanjeev, the victim of ICFAI for the above cause .Its amazing with ICFAI that you get the same marks every time you attend the exams for any groups.Same has been repeated with me for my F group Luckily I have cleared F group after 4 attempts.
Now this is happening with me for my Group G and H.
Dear Mr.Sanjeev,

I had sent ICFAI a complaint regarding the above matter. And as expected, i got a reply which i wont think will be surprising as below.

Dear Ms.Bhavi M M,

This is to inform you that, there are two options for the students: 1) Recounting of marks 2) Comprehensive Feedback

Procedure for Recounting and CFB

The recounting result will be dispatched within a week after the receipt of the request.

(2) Candidates who are interested in a Comprehensive Feedback of their answer script(s) of a particular examination, should send request for the same along with a payment of Rs.400 per Subject within seven days from the date of announcement of results. Guess i think they are least concerned about the nature of the complaint, as the reply itself says for some procedures wherein again MONEY is concerned...

I think now its time for all to come forward and take action against them... let them know the power of students. I will be online on this mail id [protected]@yahoo.com 24X7 please contact me so that we can work as ONE !!

Please find the response to the points raised In your above complaint, dated 16
May, 2011.

You alleged in the mail stating that you scored same marks in Business Policy & Strategy in three consecutive examinations and that it is unbelievable wherein a candidate can score similar marks three times in a theory paper. As a contradiction to your allegation, an analysis of your scores in the other subject of the same Group, i.e., Business Ethics & Corporate Governance demonstrates that the scores are not identical. There is a variation in the range of marks that you obtained in this paper. You have, indeed, intentionally avoided revealing this information and mentioned only about the marks you obtained in Business Policy & Strategy. Therefore, it is evident that your accusation, that we award same marks every time, is baseless.

In this context, you must understand that the weightage of marks for each question is different and the answers are evaluated absolutely based on the merit of the presentation. If your scores are same in three examinations, it means that your performance measures up to the same standard and also there is lack of preparation on your part. So, instead of resorting to mud-slinging and faultfinding tactics, you should focus on clearing the subjects.

In this regard, we wish to tell you about the comprehensive feedback. You did not obtain the comprehensive feedback for the previous two quarters examinations. Probably, you are not aware of the shortcomings in your performance in these two attempts. However, for this quarter, since you have applied for the comprehensive feedback, it will give you a lucid picture of the inadequacies in your performance.

We believe that the student, who sincerely follows the suggestions given in the feedback, would comfortably overcome the shortcomings and be successful in his/her future attempt.

Same situation faced by myself and many more students of ICFAI.

ICFAI breaks down moral support of a student. A Student not clearing exams even in 3rd attempt is not acceptable. ICFAI doesnot care for their students & only interested in earning money?? I think they should come out with some mid way to help their students to maintain interest in the course. As it is linked with students carrer they have to work on this issue on high priority.
Ref: Pallavi Amin,

You have just made allegation against the University without revealing your identity.

If you have any specific queries, you may write to [protected]@icfaiuniversity.in giving your enrolment no.

Yes, I specially mentioned only one subject as you people specially fail with same marks in one subject only so that people don’t put allegation on you... and you as a university putting up allegation that we as students don’t put in efforts than how would you explain my clearance from Group A to Group J... by putting allegation that we students don’t put in efforts means there is major problem either with the university examination pattern or your curriculum... I would have agreed if the case would have happened only with me... but as you see the comments. The similar case has happened with many students how would you explain those cases. Would you even say that all these students don’t put in any efforts...WOW... if we didn’t want to put efforts we wouldn't have taken the course... Because we students don’t like to play with our own future!!

And the language used by you to reply this query is awesome. You as a university using this language means very unprofessional.
