I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating. You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation. India Today Book Club — NON RENEWAL OF ACCOUNT
1. I have been a member of ITBC vide membership No. ITBC01162144, since 2002.2. I had a credit balance with the book club of Rs 505.00 (owing to their non delivery of book), thus I had requested them to renew my membership, which expired on Aug 07, with the credit balance held with them.
3. Till date I must have written to them numerous mails, and all my requests to either renew my membership or send me the book which they couldnot send, have fallen to deaf ears (deliberately obviously).
4. Ofcourse I am disappointed with their response and frankly I will not recomend any of my friend to be their member because
a. Frequent non availability of demanded books.
b. Poor customer satisfaction standards.
5. Please see if you can help me.
I brought the CD, but I am getting error while accessing the software after installing, the error is
Indeo Codec Error, One of the video decoder seems to be correpted.
Even I ran the setup under the Util/ directory, I am getting the same error. Please help me how to install.

India today book — Book not issued
HiI am Sarjun Ahamed. I subscribed for India today Book club through online on 29/04/08. My order no. is MITBC-WEB-1646789. I have already paid Rs.780/- through credit card.
I have not received any books yet. Please take necessary steps to issue the books.

I had ordered 'Famous Composers - 40 CD premium edition' from their june catalogue. The product came with a free pair of Speedo Sunglasses. However, the package did not contain the free gift. I sent about 5 mails regarding the matter but they have not bothered to reply. I felt cheated. my number is ITBC 08474770 only today I paid Rs.734/- and collected their packet which contained four books and a form for adidas shoe. BUT THE MUCH PROMISED TUPPER WARE AND HOLIDAY VOUCHERS NEVER ACCOMPANIED. THEIR WEB SITE IS A BLUFF AND THEIR RECEPTIONISTS KEEP ON REPEATING THAT WE MUST CLAIM OUR GIFTS ONLY THROUGH THEIR WEB SITE. THIS IS YET ANOTHER FORM OF CHEATING THE CUSTOMERS. WE SHOULD NOT KEEP QUITE AND WE SHOULD EN MASSE RAISE THIS ISSUE WITH ITBC.
iam india today book club member .so many times i hav purchased books and cd"s but havnt received any gift item .received very colourful intimations that iam the winner of so many prizes.iam shocked to find such a poor service from a big company like india today.No response, no gifts why so?please change your attitude or else you will loose customers.
India Today Book Club — SITE FOR FREE GIFTS DOES NOT EXIST
Dear Sir,On two occasions I have been tricked into purchasing books by VPP which promise free gifts.The details of invoice nos are below
(a) Invoice no.ORB[protected] dated 28 May 08 for amount of Rs.699
(b) Invoice no.ORA[protected] dated 26 Aug 08 for amount of Rs.574
On both occasions, instructions were to log onto website http://offers.indiatodaybookclub.com/greatoffers.htm and claim the free gifts. However, on both occasions, attempts to log on to the given site only result in messages that the site cannot be found.
Apparently India Today Book Club are fraudulently tricking people to buy their products with enticements of free gift offers which are non-existent.
May I request you to take necessary action to put a stop to this blatant fraud.

India Today Book Club — Missing Book and the free offer
I received books by VPP for which I paid Rs.634. The parcel contained only three books. The book on Vaastu was missing. Besides to claim my free offer, the website mentioned in the invoice does not log in.Was this a gimmick by the India Today group??

Membership No. ITBC[protected]I had ordered for 16 Music CDs and opted for 3 instalments. 2 instalments are already debited to my card. But I have not recied the items so far.
For another order, I'm yet to get the free tupperware till date although it was confirmed over phone 3 weeks ago that the items ae already sent.
For the jewellery offer from Surat diamonds, the invoice I received along with the item is less by Rs.3000/ than the price quoted.
ITBC — non receipt of Saaz CDs
I booked order for 20 Saaz CDs and sent cheque nos.499312 and 499313 for Rs.600 each and balance Rs.700/ was to be paid on receipt of consignment.You have sent me books instead of CDs which I returned back vide my letter dated 15.10.2008 but I had to pay Rs.780/ to post office( Rs.699/ being cost of books and balance postage charges).
I hvae not received CDs as yet. Today, I received a SMS on my mobile informing that consignment of CD has been sent vide order no.OGA[protected] and I have to pay Rs.2000/ to postal department, It is nothing but cheating that once you have received amount in full how can you sent to pay parcel.
When complained today on helpline, person attending call asked me not to accept parcel when received and then you will send CD.
You have made a joke of your organisation|
I advise you to send me immediately fresh consignment wihtout cost without waiting for my returning the consignment, you want to save little respect you deserve from helpless customer.

With purchase of books fom India Today Book Club, they have sent free gifts to be claimed from http://offers.indiatodaybookclub.com/offers.htm.Where in the above page is not found.
Further, the WebId and Member Number are not even being accepted at www.indiatodaybookclub.com for registering.
I find this as completely fraudlent.

Dear Sirs,It seems I have membership nos. ITBC07298441, ITBC07299696 & ITBC07269951 & as a result I had to buy two sets of books on two occasions. hence, now I have two double sets of Survival of the Sickest, The Witch of Portbello, Winning and CDs Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopaedia, Britannica Word Search & Encyclopaedia Britannica Women who Changed the World. Please cancel two membership nos, else it will be difficult for to continue buying the same books twice or three times over.
