[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Non delivery of Order

I give below a letter sent by me to Mr Nitin Sawhney of ITBC. They have taken my money, partially executed the order and have the temerity of demanding more money for completion of the order. Moreover these high flying Sawhneys and others do not have even the courtesy of replying to mails orletters.
They are basically money grabbers.

NON EXECUTION OF ORDER NUMBER OGA[protected] BEARING INVOICE NUMBER ORA[protected] IN TOTALITY BY INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB.



I am a member of your Book Club since long bearing Membership Number ITBC07310264. I had placed an order for "C2008" and paid the amount in full vide Demand Draft Number 763484 dated 24.06.2008 for Rs 999/- ( as demanded by you) on SBI, Service Branch New Delhi.



I was surprised to receive a packet containing a partial execution of the order and the most coveted part of the order, i.e 8 Volumes of TINTIN Comics ( which were the primary reason for ordering ) was not a part of the same packet as referred to above. There was no mention in the accompanying invoice that the 8 volumes of TINTIN would not be available.



I started to believe that the same would reach me subsequently.



I was surprised to see in your booklist of July 2008 ( Vol 10 No 4) that C2008 pack of June 2008 was no more available. I gave at least 20 mails to your address [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com and [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com without getting any reply.



Subsequently I called up your helpline number[protected] and asked for the status of my order. People out there ( probably a call centre ) were rude enough to disconnect the calls.



I persisted and subsequently a mail was given to me from ITBC that it was in the process of "procuring" the Comics and my order would be executed "soon". This too was about 1 month back.



Today I again called up your help(?)line and one Mr Satyaprakash told me very politely that the books were unavailable and my order could not be executed . The costs for procuring the books were higher than the published price. So I could either have a partial refund which I don't want or I would have to pay about Rs 2000 extra to have my order executed in full. This information he had gathered from your marketing department.



Now my question to you Mr Sawhney is that why should I be held at ransom and how am I to blame if ITBC makes a mistake in its calculations? I had promised my children the total set of TINTIN comics which they were expecting and anxiously waiting for. I was also keeping up their expectations as I had faith in the commitment of ITBC . Everyday I go back home from office, I am greeted with "It has not come". Now they have started disbelieving me. I hope you understand my position now.



ITBC has made me lose face in front of my children for no fault of mine with their incompetence. As a parent I think you will understand the mental anguish and pain that has been forced upon me by your incompetent people. Now the help(?)line / marketing people of ITBC have the temerity of asking for more money for execution of the order for which I had paid in full.



Is this how ITBC functions nowadays by fleecing its customers? Some people could call these actions as cheating its customers. I would not say that as I have faith in India Today Group as I am a subscriber of the India Today magazine since long and a member of ITBC since it was launched.



Now that ITBC has painted my face in black in front of my children, may I request you to kindly look into the matter and resolve the matter so that I can get those 8 volumes of TINTIN comics without paying extra so that I can recover some face in front of my children?



I know that ITBC is not in the habit of giving replies to e-mails and this is exactly why I am writing you this letter. I know that your organization is a big one and one customer here or there may not matter much but I have faith in you and hope that you shall be able to solve my problem.



The whole affair has been in very bad taste for such a reputed (?) organization. Please try to restore my faith in your organization. I know that there are still good and rational people in this world who are courageous enough to take correct decisions to obviate customer grievances.

this co. is a cheater and damn cares about the consumers because they are running a political magazine and they have a clout in political circles and they are under impression no body can raise a voice against them. I placed a order for 3 c.d's on 25 june order no 0GA[protected] which has not been delv till date.the agents at there customer care deptt keep on giving false information ever time i call that fon no. . i wud request all persons cheated by this co. to join hands and teach this co a lesson.

In free gift offer, you should send it without any charge. In promotional offer you should not ask the money before delivery. You are suppose to send it by VPP.
Still there any hope of getting my shippment after 42 days even.
This is rididculous services from Book club I have ever seen
Please refund my money back as I dont trust your group any more.

Just to updated you with feed back for Order is : MITBC-WEB[protected] and consignment number ED[protected]IN.
Till now I am keeping patience for the order this is totally frustrating . As per speed post it takes max three days to deliver
but still it is on the way as per your customer care.
I had Placed an order No. [protected] of 7 DVDs worth RS.2598 on 17th of Dec. 2008 and was given assurance of getting the order along with free gift of Holiday Tour and 1 Branded Watch within 7-10 days. I had made the payment via Credit Card, but till date I have not received my order. Find below the details of follow ups I have made,

India Book Today Book Club — Non Delivery of order

Dear Sir
I ahve placed an order to India today book club on dated 15-3-09 for benetton watch & Goggles inspite of calling them & sending several mails to them i did not recieved any material. They every time say they are dispatching the order in this week but all invain. I have paid 1498INR for same the delivery time was 4weeks maximum .order no. is (MITBCWEB[protected] ITBC09938698 they disconnect the calls & dont reply to mails for refund of money they are cheating the innocent people.

I HAD ORDERED 2 NOS. OF REEBOK FITNESS KIT ON 05.03.09 OFFERED BY INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB AND PAID THE REQUIRED AMOUNT ALSO THROUGH CREDIT CARD. THEY HAD PROMISED ITS DELIVERY WITHIN 3 TO 4 WEEKS. I RECEIVED ONE ORDER AFTER 6 WEEKS AND THE OTHER ORDER IS NOT YET RECEIVED BY ME DESPITE SEVERAL REQUESTS THROUGH MAIL AND TELECALL AT THEIR CUSTOMER CARE NO[protected].
I have purchased Benetton watch ordered no OGA[protected] on 20th april, its now more than 30 days and I have not recieved my oredred yet, I think India today is cheat and this is new way of robbery and making money .

Pls return my m oney with punishment cost 5, 000

yes truly "india" our country today, yesterday and tomorrow how it was dreamt of by the father of the nation and what we have made it...

it was on around 16th February 2009, i had received an email advertisement from INDIA TODAY BOOK Club.

i thought it was a useful thing for me and i trusted the online shopping system, as i had never been cheated before by any one online.

I had ordered India Today Book Club vide Order no. M-COMMERCE / 0GA[protected] on 16 Feb 2009, the payment has been made through my SBI credit card to them.

BUT inspite of repeated complaints and enquiries and related talks with those guys on phone number[protected], they are telling they are trying to solve the issue and its been since Feb 09, i am unable to receive any response them.

The details of conversations are:

on 24 - Mar - 2009: talked with Mr Amar deep, Interaction id: 35210 : he said the item has not been despatched but will be despatched within next 4-5 days.

on 03 - April - 2009 talked with Mr Lalit Mohan, interaction id: 51340 : he said the item has been booked with the postal department with consignment number ED[protected] IN from Speed Post.

on 18 - May - 2009 talked with Mr Dinesh, interaction id: 106785, he said this will be taken down as complaint and will take few days say a week to get resolved. he assured that the ordered things will reach the consigned place shortly.

on 18 - May - 2009 talked with Mr Samrat, interaction id: 106810, he said the complaint will be given priority and the ordered items will be sent / resolved with 15 days.

and today is 31 May 2009 and there is no news from INDIA TODAY...

They are cheating and is there any one to stop them from cheating any further indians or any other human being on this planet... really unworthy people i have dealt with and un committed also.

I believe the issue here will get resolved.

I received letter from your side for draw on 31 st may 2009. for maruti swift & 22/24 lacs prizes but still i not received any result for that.

India Today Book Club — Order delivery pending from two months.

Hi,

I am Krutang Desai. My India Today Book Club member ship no. is ITBC09970829. This complain is w.r.t. my current Order No. M-COMMERCE / 0EA[protected]Complaint no. 239340), which consists of (1 swatch watch, 1 reebok laptop bag and 1 reebok shirt) for which I have already paid Rs. 3198. Actually this order had been placed on 8 September 2009 and its initial order no. was M-COMMERCE / 0GA[protected], which was not delivered to me due to some technical problem at their end. After repetitive calling to customer care, they reprocessed my order and gave me a new order no. M-COMMERCE / 0EA[protected] on 25th October.
However, this was not an end to it. I have yet not received the delivery of my order and every time when i call customer care, i just get one answer from them that due to some technical problem we were unable to process your order and it will DEFINITELY reach you in next 10 working days. When i give them a call after these 10 working days, the new operator gives the same answer and the delivery of my order is getting delayed undefinitely.
Moreover, the follow ups from my side are not only through phones, but i do have mail communications wherein also the same response is reflected.

I have already paid the amount(Rs. 3198) in advance and am regretting my decision now. I do not no how to get this sorted out and after loosing my patience, i am approaching this forum with a lot of hope that my order gets delivered at the earliest.

I request you to please help me overcome this. Please let me know if you need any further details. Also if this is not the proper channel, please let me know whom to approach.

I have made an payment of Rs 1198 on 18th december for a pair of reebok glasses with a reebok watch, i have written to them so far for at least 15 times but in vain . Only assurances that i will receive the ordered stuff in next 2 weeks. But so far nothing has come. My membership number ITBC09196450 and order booking ID[protected].
Order for Rs. 2498 toward rebock items was placed on 23rd July and payment made by credit card. the goods have not been delivered till date inspite of various email reminders and phone calls made. email replies from the club ask us to be patient and that complaint is forwarded to concerned department. when we phone from mumbai ( std charges), it take 15-20 minutes to get the person on line after keeping it on hold with no answer.after 9 months of waiting we need justice now

I was called upon by the india today book club on 11th march 2010 and was offered a scheme worth Rs.27996/-. I was forced to make the payment immediately . I made them the payment very same day but i have not recieved my items till date. I have been calling regularly on their customer care but all in vain. They always ask me to wait for another 4-5 days but now it has been more than 70 days since i am being getting fooled . Kindly help me out.

India Today Book Club — Cheating in delivering the order

This is Vijay kumar who ordered items of Reebok products by looking the advertisement in India Today news paper.
I ordered 7 items of Reebok products they are
1.Reebok Lite Runner shoes 9
2.Reebok Tee shirts-L size
3.Reebok SunGlasses
4.Reebok Bag
5.Reebok Towel(Fitness Kit)
6.Reebok watch white dial black strap(I16631) Round Dial

In out of 7 items i got only 2 items they are no.4 & 6.

I paid the total amount of Rs.3298/- as in bill for total of 6 items. this is a part of cheating to the consumer while ordering the items in India today book club.

this is be taken in to consideration of Cheating by India Today Book club.
