[Resolved] India Today Book Club Sweepstakes Offer — Is it reliable | |
Hi I got a mail IRCTC and India Today Book Club (ITBC) stating that there's gonna be a draw which will win me prizes if luck clicks. I've signed in and ordered the offers (which includes a tour package, an adidas bag and few books) worth 500. I would like to if there's something like "ITBC" really exists and is the lucky draw gonna happen for sure? The doubt arouse cos the prize amount were a little high. I have received a similar mail from 123Greetings and I am even not willing to click on any link as it might have a virus embedded with it... But it would be great if someone can confirm if it is fake or not. If it is fake, I am not surprised. If it is not, I am and I dont want to lose a chance like this... ;o)

India Today sunscription offers are bogus. 5yr ago I subscribed for India Today magazine with assued gifts of a camera anda telephone.
They send a camera and a Telephone. Both of which did not work for a single day.
I sent complain but in vein.
So i think this swapstake offers are bogus.
India Today is a very good magazine. I donot know why are they are taking such wrong way to increase subscription.

I received a SMS in my mobile stated that "U r declared Winner for Free Gift Voucher of Rs. 3301 Reserved for u at www.bookstoday.in/win/SUJA or check ur email. Limited Validity!" from Book Club. After visiting the said address I saw this - "Rs 3301 off on Swatch Irony Chrono Black Watch

To update till date I haven't received the "Free Adidas Bag" that was there in the offer. On calling the Cust care, they stated that it was out of stock and so the delay. Such a big company and sort of comments from Cust care is not expected at all. I hope my VOC would certainly help the top managment get an air of the things happening.
Moreover in the offer there was a CD "ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA STUDENT LIBRARY'. It was not opening. I was told by Cust Care to return the same so that it can replaced. But till date there is no response.
Please take it very seriously.

Fake. message.Just cheating peoples. They will cheat you by obtaining your personal information as well as ask you to send some money for postage, handling etc.I got same wants to cancel my order.

Well, respond to these offers only i[censored] r a member of indiatoday book club, or u hav subscribed to reader's digest magazine.there have been a few cases where the products dont reach the customers.but thats not the case always.time to time u wil get these kind of offers. Use ur mind. Order something i[censored] really need it. Dont fall in trap of 'free gifts'

As per the offer flashed on irctc.com, I opted for India Today bookclub offer relying on the India Today brand. I received the set of encyclopaedia towards the payment of Rs. 574/-.Further, I've been receiving only SMS's about the privilege voucher number and related things but I haven't received any of the free prizes or vouchers till date. The URL path mentioned in the SMS is invalid as well.
Pls do the needful and take immediate action
