To the concern authority, Eastern railways ., D/Sir, I was traveling through train no 3149 kanchankanya exp to Sealdah to NJP via ticket no 7456066The train arrived at NJP at 7.00 am . unfortunately I can’t wake up and Hardly manage to get off from the train at siliguri Junction which is almost 5-10min. journey . at the same city . In the hurry I lost my some important things I couldn’t were my shoe also .I was very upset and trying to inform my driver to come at home who was waiting at NJP . In that time a ticket collector heard our conversation and want my ticket . I gave him the ticket then he want ticket from NJP to Junction which Is very negligible amount of fare. He asked me to give Rs 600. I denied and told him several time that what is actually happened But he threatened me and told me that if I don’t agree to give him the amount He will call GRP and also told me that they will sent me to the hospital . I want to give my Extra charge of fare to him but officially . He was very angry but I bound him to give me the receipt. He charged me actual Rs. 18.00 as fare and excess fare Rs 250.00 via excess fare ticket receipt no 899153 dated 16.04.08. I supposed to know that railway authority recruit these people to provide service to their customer . but I was very shocked to see that how they want to make money by using their power .Now I want to know is that a valid receipt his signature is also there . Dear Sir,
I want to describe one of the most horrendous and most derogatory incidence, which happened in Pune station yesterday evening.
I, with my wife, 2 years old daughter, my sister, nephew and niece had come to see off my old parents who were travelling via Jhelum express. They were going on a pilgrimage organized by a Private Tour and the tour manager had purchased all the tickets including for all those who had come to see their relatives off.
After seeing them off when we were trying to get out of the Pune station so called Ticket checker named Rashmi and her male TC colleague asked for the Platform tickets which we obviously did not have and the Tour manager who had purchased the tickets had already left the station. We knew that we were in fix, we tried to explain the case to both of them who were not in a mood to listen. And the madam and her colleague were in mood to eagerly book their first ever case against us by accusing us and especially me by charging any offenses (which they could fancy in their wildest of imagination) like use of abusive language, putting me only behind the bar for arguing with them and so on and forth even after we paid the penalty of Rs.800. (I do not know how the calculation works out to) No, please hold on the story does not end here.
No the madam ticket checker was not in a mood to let us go so easily and without creating a scene for everyone. She than literally man handled my 12 year old nice catching her by collar of her shirt and pushing her to the side again now allegating that she had abused her and now she was determined to put her in Child remand home at any cost. Lo and behold the bravery of other Ticket checkers (4 lady checker and 1 male checker and 2 other officers who pounced from no where) they all 'gheraoed' 12 year old kid and her mother and pounced on them like hungry wolves, lest they should run away. I am not sure which rule/Act allows the Ticket Checkers to do manhandle a minor girl and poor and helpless mother. The victorious team of our respected Ticket checkers almost drag the two ladies to the Station Master's Room. The issue is now tried to be resolved by the stationmaster. Mean while unaware of what has happened at the back I alongwith my wife and two year old daughter try to search for my hapless sister, niece and nephew who after a search of 30 minutes I found out in Station Master's room. But no I have to be a mute spectator as if I intervene than they will aggravate the issue and put me first behind the bars. So I have to remain a silent spectator in front of the great lady ticket checker who was out to take out the full Vendetta against 12 year old kid and was seemingly not in a mood to release her. But now even I am accused o[censored]sing the bad words. After 2 hours of immense mental torture the kind team of ticket checkers release my sister and niece. This is the first hand incidence as has happened.
My simple question is, are the Indian Citizens like me so helpless in front of the authority who are out full fledged in taking out the personal vendetta even against 12 year old girl?
Few points for thought
- Can the Ticket checking be done by the authorities (not in uniform and with batch) who are not seemingly the authorities. I conclude this as I saw the wagon of all these lady ticket checker and 1 male ticket checker reporting to one authority in the Station Master's cabin
- Is the penalty that was levied on us appropriate as the receipt that was issued to us did not have the legible handwriting to make us understand what was the penalty for and one of the receipts bore the stamp Talegaon Cog. I am not sure what does it mean and whether it is correct to issue receipt with that stamp from Pune station.
- Is it legally correct to take out the personal vendetta against 12 year old girl, even after we have paid the fine.
- Is it that law fearing persons like us have to haplessly keep on listening to whatever list of charges which the authorities keep on levying without any logical reasoning, just to satisfy their fantasies or plummet their self pride. I am using the word hapless as no authority seemed to be in a mood to listen to our case and frightened us of dire consequences if we at all dared to even open the mouth.
- Is going on Platform without tickets such a big crime to devastatingly torture a 12 year old kid with the worst of criminal allegations ? Can anybody answer this ?

last month when i travellig from ludhiana to ghaziabad T.T came in my appartment and try to me show that u r on wrong apprtment he was try to sell my sit to other person when i try to complain to other person he also abuse me and they say in ludhiana person from norht india like up & bhiar has no right to say anything u r in punjab and we can do every thing with u
this mein they can do everything with us what is the meing of punjabi
i have seen lot of time that every TT try to fool north indian person and also abuse him

It was because the schools of our children were about to open. We got a ticket in RAC B-1 39, 39, 47, 47. So, I requested the T.T.E of Raxaul to confirm a seat. He said that you contact the Gorakhpur T.T.E. Later, I requested the Gorakhpur T.T.E, he said that he will try very rudely but he went and slept. Again I asked him, he said there is no chance now. But, I saw that he was lying. Actually, he took the bribe from the ppl in waiting and gave all the available seats to them. We faced tremendous problem. You must examine the case with the help of the traveling chart and also examine on such ppl.
I want a respond that is the bribe something that is always needed?

Mr . Somdeep Guha is right of his word because no doubt the Lady TTE Checkers are very Sincere to take extra fine and Abuse that the innocent passenger or a person on Emergency entered in the platform or tell his difficulties of not taken Platform ticket on Emergency is totaly right and this type of TT Checker should be punished immediately by govt only because they torture the person that he is criminal by not took platform ticket by mistake and if he confess or tell truth and his family is present or he was waiting for hie relatives to pickup is not a criminal, criminal are those who totaly ignore and harrashing the person who even tell his problem that he by chance not taken ticket is totally innocent and with respect he must be given back the money that is HUMANITY and ignoring all this they show there arrogant behaviour of their post is totaly a cruality that all and this type of TT Checker should be terminated or should be given RI by Govt of India, Because now recently the same case at Coimbatore Railway Platform was occured when 2 TT checker Lady abused a Journalist by showing the Identity she was so arrogant that she shhould be punished by Govt of India and Railway Athourities so that they should not Abuse any other innocent person for not taken Platform ticket on Emergeny situation, On 29 / 01/ 2010 in Coimbatore Railway Station at 1:pm a Railway TTChecker Padmavaty and another not named took unnecessary fine of Rs 650/- and abused Journalist, and all evdence is there that how she abused the the Journalist, if this type of things they do then the reputation of Indian Railway will be in dark only .A prompt action to be taken to such TT Checker who realy misuse their power to harrash innocent People on platform .
