To
The concerned officer,
Indian Railways.
Respected Sir,
Sub: Travel in Disabled compartment - Information - Reg.,
My name is Purushotham. I am physically challenged person. Here i want get the information about traveling in "For Disabled" compartment which is in luggage cum guard bogie. I want to clarify that if a disabled person taken a general ticket is not permitted to travel in "For disabled compartment". If it is inforce. By taking general ticket having no Railway concession certificate with disabled person will become general people, is he not called disabled.
Why i am telling this is on 20.04.2008 i have travelled in Sheshadri Express from Katpadi Junction to Vijayawada junction. I have taken general 2nd class ticket. when i entered into the "For Disabled" compartment the RPF constable not allowed me to sit in that compartment. He was saying that no person without Railway concession certificate not allowed into this compartment. If it is true then again i ask if a disabled person take general ticket will become general person mean not physcially challenged.
So, I request you to please give me the information about this.
Thanking you sir,

Indian Railways — Not allowed to travel
I booked an online ticket in nilgiri express to travel on 17th June 2011. I boarded the train in coach no S10. My Name is Prasanna N. Age : 23. Gender: Female. TTR entered the coach 5 minutes before the departure of train. When I showed him my ticket, he asked for id proof. I showed him my employer's id for verification. He was not satisfied with that id and demanded for voter id/ pan card, etc. Since I came to the station straight away from my office, I could not bring those ids which the TTR wanted. He walked away without listening to my repeated requests. Since there was no option for me i stepped down from the train and I did not travel that day. To my satisfaction i enquired to the railway police who was standing outside the compartment. He said that employer's ID is more than enough to travel. As there was no other way i was forced to travel back to my hostel in Besant Nagar. Being an unmarried lady, and not having much knowledge about Chennai city, i found it very difficult to travel back alone with lot of fear during night time. Due to inhumane behavior of the TTR, i was put into lot of mental agony and torture.Kindly look into the issue and offer your remarks on the above subject. Hope you will respond to my complaint as early as possible.
