IndianRailway — miscommunication and bad management at kahalgaon station.

I had booked a 3AC ticket (no.[protected] for my wife and son to travel from Kahalgaon to Patna in train 3483up(Farakka express) on 26.03.08. On reaching at kahalgaon station for boarding train I first contacted with the station officer on duty to know about the status of the train and the no of plateform at which the train shall arrive. The officer told me this train shall come at plateform no-1 and it shall reach the station within 15 minutes. He also emphasised that all UP and Down trains shall be taken on plateform-1 only. Reason behind this was not told by the officer.

I alongwith my family moved to the far end of the plateform-1(Ekchari side) at which location AC coach of Farakka express is generally positioned. Afterwards on PA system repeatedly it was announced that Farakka exp is coming on Plateform-1.

After sometime suddenly they announced that Brahmputra mail(4056) is coming on Plateform-1. But they did not indicate the arrival status of Farakka express. At this point of time I sent one person to station office to find out the status of Farakka. That person came back with information that now they are taking Farakka exp on plateform-02.

Now, following problems were existing there to immediately crossover from pl-1 to pl-2.
(i) Brahmaputra mail was standing at line-1(plateform-1).
(ii) One rack was standing at line-2.
(iii) one Goods train was standing at line-3
(iv) It was found that overbridge is
under repair and it is closed. It was not indicated earlier.

At that time I found that many a persons were crossing from Pl-1 to Pl-2 in very unsafe manner by jumping and carwling beneath the standing rack and goods train. This was not possible for to do alongwith my family and luggage. We decided to go safely by coming first to rear end of the plateform-1(Bikramshila side) and then crossing over to Pl-2. By the time we could reach to Pl-2 Farakka exp started from the station and my family missed the train.

After that I came to the station officer and asked why they managed things in this way which created a confusing and unsafe condition to the passengers and forced many of the passengers to miss the train. I asked the officer to give the complaint book where I wanted to write the facts.

On this the officers present in station room misbehaved with me and told they shall not give complaint book for such type of silly happenings. After a lot of arguments they could be ready to give complaint book and I wrote the complaint at page no-582151. They told me that such complaint is meaningless and nothing is reckonable in this complaint.

I submitt this story/complaint hereby for the notice of higher officers.

IndianRailway — wrong coach signs

in a train no 19110 gujarat queen, from ahmedaad to valsad.. I did reservation with pnr no..[protected] , because of wrong signs of coaches i did not got my seat.. and also there is no ticket checker come to check tickets..
