INDIATIMES – WORST ONLINE SHOPPING WEBSITE


We had recently purchased a Blackberry 9810 via Indiatimes. We received the product on 27th of January, 2012. On 28th of Jan, We realized that the phone is a problem as it gets heated and Battery gets over in 4-5 hours. This appears to be a manufacturing defect and requested Indiatimes to refund our money as we didn’t want a defective model.

Our order number is [protected] and order date is 16th of January 2012.

After trying a couple of times on Indiatimes support numbers, the Customer Support Executive said we would have the Blackberry picked up and refund process will start in a matter of 4-5 days. There has been no pickup of the blackberry ever since. Then on talking to Customer Support, every time we mentioned our Order Number, we were told the Systems are down and call later.. This went on for 8-10 days and we realized this has been done on purpose. We had been emailing Indiatimes Customer support and Operations Head.. but no reply.

Finally on posting this complain on Facebook, we managed to get a response. That too we were told that we should take the Blackberry to Blackberry Service Center for any issues.

As the new product is faulty, it’s the responsibility of the Merchant to ensure refunds or replacements. We have not been getting any response from India times since then.

Online shopping support needs a long way to go and we all need to be careful of Online shopping Portal like INDIATIMES who bring in refurbished or old products to cheat the Indian Consumer.

I ordered a sewing machine and food processor. Both failed at first use. Placed a complaint with Times of India. They promised to replace...no action taken. Sent escalation mail. Still no response.

Its time to realize that TOI is polluting our country with cheap China goods (both the products I ordered were made in a village of china). This is affecting our Indian industries. Their after sales support and response is zero...their standard answer is "in 72 hours we will have someone pick it up from your doorstep". Also realize that, all you have is a call center number and a mail id...there is nothing you can do to take penal action on them.

Beware and stay away!
