[Resolved]  Indigo Airlines — DISALLOW PREGNANT WOMEN TO BOARD

27th May 2011, I, Sanjit Kumar Pradhan was returning back to Bangalore from Bhubaneswar by Indigo airlines along with my mother, wife and son. My PNR was KD33DN, My wife was 34 weeks pregnant I am carrying also the doctor's fitness certificate from Dr Veena Acharaya , Lakshmi ,maternity Bangalore. I came from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar by Kingfisher 2 week before to attend a puja at my home.

The Indigo airlines allowed me checkin and also produced the boarding pass and suddenly asked me the fitness certificate. I produced the certificate but after that they did not allow me to travel. My wife is quite fit to travel but the Indigo airlines did not allow. They told me that, they will refund me completely the money. I am not sure whether they will refund or not. It was a real harassment and disappointment at the airport. The executive at Indigo Airline was Soumya, She was just ignoring our repeated requests.

I don't know why travel rule is different in different airlines, King fisher allows till end of 36 months. There should be a single travel policy , should be abided by all the airlines. Our total ticket cost was around Rs 22,000. If some body can help me to take my complaint to a further level please contact me @ [protected]@yahoo.com.

I was quite disappointment will never travel in Indigo airlines in my life and also advise others to be away from this airlines.

LOL .. I believe you wife is over fit is she could hold her pregnancy till 36 months :O, check the comments first before posting and yes if the pregnancy is above 32 weeks she can't travel by air even if the doctor permits, this is for her safety only, airline doesn't have any interest in denying your boarding ... so change your way of thinking and try to abide by the rules .. you should have read the terms & conditions before making a reservation, in short all is your fault, airline is not to blame for this ...
