Jaipur Traffic Police — Bribery and Harassment to outsiders by Jaipur Traffic Police | |||
Respected Sir/Madam, I visited Jaipur with 3 friends of mine. Since our car was from Haryana, Jaipur traffic police harassed us too much. With out any reasons Mr. Chanchal Singh in area near City Palace stopped us at 10:00 am and bullied us , telling my friend who was driving that he is drunk. It was pure harassment as that friend of mine does not even touch alcohol. Mr. Chancal Singh also told us that if we don't pay him, he will make a fake case against us and then we have to go to court etc. We were afraid so we paid him 400 Rs. It was a very bad experience and I would suggest no tourist to ever go to Jaipur in his own car. Also his behavior towards us was very rude. IT IS JAIPUR EVERYTHING IS FAIR HERE. PAY THANKS TO GOD THAT HE LEAVE YOU. OTHERWISE THEY SUE CASE IN COURT

I fully agree with Deepali. I also experienced a shameful and ruthless behaviour from Jaipur Traffic Police-3times. I visited Jaipur along with my parents in October 2016. My father was very excited to see the Land of Rajput. Being a history teacher, he used to tell several great stories of Rajput of Rajasthan to the student (I was also his student)...so everyone in my car(Haryana registered) was feeling great.
But unfortunately, at the time entering jaipur from NH8, the first bad experience...traffic police stopped us for driving @65kmph(they showed us in a speed machine)instead of 60kmph...thank god because of my mother insists I drove slowly and missed by 5kmph!!! But you know the usual behaviour of the cops ...threatened me with big changes...'i' a common man had no way but to listen to their advice and gave 400/- without any receipt!!! Some of experienced friends later told me..that particular place is a strategic place for those greedy cops...1) there is no big display for speed limits 2) it is slightly downhill area-thus 99%chance of crossing 60!!!
