[Resolved]  Barclay Bank Credit Card — Levy of late payment + penalty

Let me start with the statement “I am really disappointed for having chosen Barclay Credit Card”. I have been holding this card since July 07. I have always been paying my complete dues on time and every time.

However I continue to receive calls from our collection agent at every odd hour for the payment. To mention about the recent incidents, last month I had dropped the cheque of the due amount at least 4 working days in advance, but due to some strange reason the payment was not received on due date and I was forced to pay it online. This ended me making 2 payments for the same amount due.This happened in the month of July 2008.

The saga is repeated for September month as well. I have deposited the cheque for the complete due amount as per their last statement on 10th of August for a payment which is due on 15th August. However the payment got debited from my account on 20th August.

I have still more surprise in store which unfolded when i recieved my statement, i was levied late payment charges + interset charges.

I have called several times to their customer harrasment centre which they call as customer service centre to lodge the compliant but of no use, i have written emails both to thier india office as well as UK office. Thankfully my email was acknowledged from their UK office, but its indian office is still to open their mail box.

i strongly believe that such banks knowingly delay the cheque collection process so as to levy hefty fine from customers who pay in time.

Is this the way a leading Bank operates?

I have few questions to be answered.



1) What is the process you follow to track the cheque collection from various drop boxes?

2) What you expect a customer to give you a proof for having dropped the cheque on time?

3) What will make you believe from a customer who repeatedly tells about the payment being made and also gives the cheque details?

4) Can a customer like me be paid for unnecessary mental harassment?

5) Add to this will be the late payment charges you will be debiting for no fault of the customer



Just to reiterate here I have dropped the last month’s cheque at B N Putallingaraju, Jayanagar 4th Block, Petrol Pump on 10th of August at approx 10 AM.



In view of this extra ordinary treatment by Barclay Bank, I request the following:



1) Please put me in DND List. My contact No is[protected]

2) Please cancel my cards, of course I will pay the amount due towards merchandising not the late payment charges if you are levying any.

Barclay bank credit card number — Regarding Barclay Bank Credit Card Payment

Dear Sir,


I have paid all my dues but still your statement showing me the
outstanding.I have called to customer care n number times but they arte not
going to give me any solution.this is formal mail for future references.Now
i am telling you all details once again please revert my charges and close
my credit card.


1.[protected] I have done a transaction of hutch payment amount is 489.61

2.[protected] i deposit a checque no is 956367 amount is 500 Rs.

3.[protected] cheque no 956367 is cleared from my bank account(payment is
cleared).

4. By confusion i deposit one more cheque of same amount that is 500 Rs.
and cheque no is 956368 deposit on[protected].

5.[protected] Payment have effect in my bank account.

6.[protected] i did a transaction of 308 Rs for hutch payment.

7.[protected] i did one more transaction of 360 Rs from BP Preet vihar.

8. So my outstanding is 157.61 Rs.

9. But i received a statement of 496.69 Rs.so i called to customer care many
times.so due to customer care due date has gone.

10. approx near to 22-oct or 23-oct i called to customer care and they told
for deposit 194Rs and they said rest of the charges we wil adjust but till
now.they hane not reduced.

11. So every month they put a late fees and interest so at this time my
outstanding is 1027.93 Rs.

This is not my fault please check all the things and reduce my charges and
close my CARD.other wise i have to take help from media or consumer court.I
have all documents which told my story. and this time this is the fight of
truth because i have spent more then your due on telephonic call or others.

ABOUT 1 MONTHS BACK I HAVE GIVEN MY DOCUMENTS FOR THE PLATINUM CREDIT CARD OF BARCLAY BANK, BUT SO FAR I HAVE RECIEVED NOTHING AND NO INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROCESS HAS BEEN COMMUNICATED TO ME SO FAR.

Barclays Credit Card — Penalty for their fault

Hi!

I have recently taken a Barclays credit card and I am very disappointed. The service is deplorable in many aspects.

I have the following concern which I hope you will address at the earliest:

My card number is [protected] and I paid my first bill on 4 May 2008, ICICI bank cheque number 332982 for an amount of Rs. 6673.

This did not reflect in my account and I have been charged a late payment fee and an interest amount. I have already called the customer care thrice informing them of the matter and asking for a reversal of both these charges.

I have received my next month statement and still these changes are not reflected.

I mailed them with the complaint and now they have replied that they cannot reverse the charges as the payment has been made post the due date.

I have made my payment in time through a skypak drop box, but if they have not collected it in time, why am I being penalized for it?

Please look into the matter. also, their customer care is really bad. It takes ages to get through to them and when one dos, they are completely unhelpful with no information on the status of complaint. For this complaint alone, I have called up 5 times.

Barclays Bank — credit card payment

My credit card no.[protected] i have already paid the amount spend by me on this card to bank but they are demanding more and more penalties to me on demanding of no dues certificate by me. they are regularly calling me on phone by there collection officers to pay more to obtain NDC from bank.
so kindly help me from this harressment.

Barclay Credit Card — Late PAyment Charges

This is Javed Khan. I am holding your card . In the month of July I have purchased some product by using the card and the same amount i have already paid .

Now, I am getting calls from Barclay that we have received your payment late, so you have to pay the late payment charges.


I have spoken to Barclay executive regarding the same. He has assured me that first I have to pay the minimum amount due and he will send the request to back the charges.

But after that also i am receiving the call from barclay side to pay the amount.

If you can help me it will be great.

Barclay Bank Credit Card — Re: Late Payment Charges Levied

I am having a credit card from Barclay bank, I am pissed of with this card, In the Month of feb I dropped a cheque for the payment of Rs. 750/- on this card. But Later in the month I recd a call they havent recd any cheque on my card account, Pls pay the amount in cash to avoid late charges and Got the cash collected from the Bank executive. But i was surprised to see the Late Payment charges in the next statemens. I have no transaction on this card but the Late payment Charges have been aggrevated on my account. Pls advise me how shall I go forward.

I ahve submitted check no 853786 of icici bank dated 22.06.09 on sahara mall gurgaon branch . till time it is not cleared, this is 2nd time I have faced this problem. there is lack of communication and carelessness of this branch .

I am a Barclays bank credit card holder Card number [protected] exp: 06/11 Name: Kiran Manubhai Patel. Add: 24, Sharda Apts Sahar Road Andheri east Mumbai 400099, Tel number: [protected]. I discontinued the use of this card for the past 8-10 months. I discontinued as I was not gettiing my credit card statement monthly & it became difficult to keep a track of the same.. I have redistered a complaint for the same with the Barclays customer care atleast twice but no resolution was given. I got fed up & stopped using the card. 6 months go I got a call stating that I owed the Bank INR 2500 I immediately paid the sum & was told by the person sent to collect stating that this was full & final payment & now the card was cancelled. I assumed the same in good faith & inspite of any statement I paid all that was due, now recently for the past one month I have been harrased by the calls stating that I owe them further INR 5000/. My question is if i owed you this money then as a consumer why did I never get the statement for balance owed as a card holder this is banks responsibilty to communicate what the balance is & ensure timely payment from the card Holder. Can someone from the bank ans my question because the customer service is ineffective & I get no results.

1. Why did i not get monthly statements? If you have sent them can I see the courier receipts which shows the acknowledgement of the same by me or any family member.

2. Why suddenly did the bank realize I had so much balance if you claim I have this much to pay to the bank show me the communication that should have been made when I defaulted to pay the payment in the ist or 2nd month.

3. You want me to make the payment of INR 5000/- then what was the last payment that i made of INR 2500/- can i see the receipt & why was I communicated by the associate that this is full & final payment If this is communicatied by your employee why should I be penalized.

Please find resolution to this we are decent people & do not want to be harrowed by bank making unnecessary claims on my time & causing me all this distress.
