[Resolved]  Mahindra Rodeo — Harassment & pathetic after sales service

Hi,

I am Sujit Mukherjee living in Pune contact number [protected].
I am facing continuous problems with Rodeo and its service provider. I bought it in Aug'2010 from their authorized showroom (earlier Tanisk Motors / P.B. motors and now shifted to Kothrud) in Senapati Bapat road.. Once they got the payment and delivered the Rodeo; it was shameless reaction from the management whenever I interacted with them... I have gone through huge frustration till now and finally decided to take this step. Below are the harassments I have faced so far.. Most worst people I met was the manager of the showroom.
1) Just after 2 days Electric start stopped working and I had to kick start the Rodeo everytime. I called the showroom for help. Initially I was reluctant to go for it as I live in Kharadi and the showroom is ~25 Km away from my place. I asked them about the nearest service centre and they said it will be in Yerwada (which is ~ 10 Km from my place). Later on they denied that statement and said there is no service centre in Yerwada, I have to bring my Rodeo to their showroom only.
2) They also promised that if I face any problem to bring it to their service centre, they will collect it from my place and deliver after doing required work. For this I have to pay one side cost and rest will be by the company. Later on they denied the same also.
3) I brought that Rodeo to their centre and they asked me leave it for 1 day and I was thinking how to go back to my place and then again come next day to pick it from there!!!! Anyhow I managed to do the same. But the same problem happened again after couple of days and I had to do the same hectic activity of dropping and picking my Rodeo to the service centre which as I mentioned earlier is ~25 Km away. This time they said they have changed the entire start-up kit so there will be no problem.
4) Within 1 month I noticed that the petrol is licking from the bottom portion of the foot rest. I called them and they asked me to bring it to the centre. And after 1 day, they said they changed the tank.
5) Mileage was promised as 50KMPL but it started with 30KMPL and everytime I complain them they say after this servicing it will be more than 45KMPL (noteable point is everytime they say, “Iss baar servicing ke baad agar 45 nahi dia to aap ek call karna Hum gaadi aap ke ghar se ley ke aayenge...”. even after servicing it for nearly 2 years it is still 30-35 KMPL.
6) After couple of days of 2nd servicing of Rodeo, accelerator wire torn out and I again had to call them and agreed to pay the “@*@X& “charges they asked. Surprisingly, when I asked the mechanic who came to repair it, He said “Sir, last time servicing ke time pe water chala gaya tha... shayaad thik se Greesing nahi kia.....”. I was stunned to know that I have paid for their fault!!!! I called the manager and as usual he denied... “Aisa ho hi nahi sakta... Hum kuch nahi kar saktey hai...”
7) Within 4 months, one of the head lights was not working and to repair it again I had to go to their centre.
8) Now all of a sudden I received a call from them stating if I have any issue with my Rodeo. I told them about my experience and they transferred my call to their servicing manager / in charge. I explained him and then he advised me that he is new in this post and want to review and resolve all pending issues but I have to drop the Rodeo there and now they have changed the location to Kothrud which is even more far than earlier location. I denied and said I don’t want to spend my time and money on this anymore. He then said he is sending someone to pick it from my place.. I was surprised and thought they might have changed the management. They picked the Rodeo from my place and in the evening informed me that Rodeo is ready but I have to collect it. I went there and they gave me a huge bill (even it was supposed to be a free servicing) including Pick-up charges..!!!!!! I told them that one side cost should be born by the company and if I am collecting then why shoud I pay? Then routed me to showroom manager and I found that the showroom manager is the same old person and answer was known to me... “Sir, Aisa kahi likha hai to dikhaiye...”..
I think this is enough to conclude that this company will do anything (including big big false commitment) to sale their products and then turn their face off saying “Likha hai to dikhaiye..”
Note: I am using the word “This Company” as for me that manager was wearing the uniform of Mahindra and was there as the face of the company..
