[Resolved]  Meru — Last minute back out

Dear Sir

I had booked a Meru cab for 05th Dec sunday for my travel to International airport. As per their rules i had booked the same 24hrs prior the pick up time and the reference number[protected] was given to me and confirmed to me that the cab would reach you. They had also told me that you would be getting driver name and car details 30mins prior to the pick up. As the Meru slogan says RELY ON US i did the same thing. I had asked for the cab at 6:20PM but there was no sms sent to me till 6:00 PM so i called them back to check the status. I was informed that the cab could not be confirmed to you now and i was left helpless last minute i tried to make a complaint as i had requested for a cab 24hrs prior still it was not confirmed. I was kept on hold for a long time with no justification given. I have to stand on the road for half an hour helpless with no cabs and rickshas were empty as being a sunday. I just managed to reach the airport on time 5 mins before the counter closes. I request you to please take severe action against them, Please revert with the status.

Meru — My Brother and Mother Missed train due to Meru Cab

I booked a cab on 26th May 09 for the date 27th from K S Layout Bangalore to Majestic Railway Station, On 26th Meru Executives said and send SMS that before 30 minutes I will receive SMS about CAB confirmation, on 27th morning at 7:00 AM I received SMS about confirmation of my CAB and also I received SMS stating cab No and Mobile# of Driver but driver was not picking calls, hence again called back to Meru cab and they said that they are going to arrange another cab in 10 to 20 minutes

I booked for 27th May 09 at 7:45am and upto 8:30 there was no responce from Meru cab(City Taxi) due to which I missed my train and lost for 5000Rs. They have miss guided that they will arrange cab but they could not, pls help me to recover my money

Meru — Unavailability of the Cab, in spite of making prior promise of availability if called 45 minutes before departure.

I had called MERU Cab services, on the 09/06/2010 for hiring a cab on the 10/06/2010 morning between 8:00 am to 8:15 am. The operator who received my call told me you will have to book the cab tomorrow at 7:30, if you need it by 8:15 am. I told him that my grandmother is a handicapped lady and i do not want any problems so i have to be sure of that, he told me, " No madam, if you book 45 minutes prior to departure, we will be able to send a cab." After so much reassurance, i was convinced and thought of booking it at 7:30. I had called them on the 10/06/2010 morning 7:30 am and asked for a cab, and the lady at the desk tells me, there are no cabs available all our booked, i asked her about the promise made to me, she says," No madam, it is subject to availability, we wont be able to serve you, we are sorry." I was then stranded totally, as i tried to call other service who wanted prior notices, and now a days in Mumbai, the service is so bad or you can say worse that no taxi guys will serve you, the reality is that we have to ask these guys, where are you ready to go and eventually get down there and hire other to get tot the destination..is the word "SERVICE" in the city of "Mumbai". MERU just makes promises "RELY ON US" and "24*7 AT YOUR SERVICE". This is what their service quality is and please folks do not believe in MERU blindly, they would let you down anytime!

Meru — Harassment

On 30th Nov, 2010, I booked a cab for Fortis Hospital (cunninghum road, Bangalore) from RT Nagar at 8 am in the morning. The reference number was 2051051. When I did not get any call from the driver, I tried to call him (Syed Aslam Pasha-[protected]) in the number sent by the call center. But no one picked the call and when again I tried it was coming engaged. Then I called call centre people at 7.50 am, and they said “ Don’t worry, I will find out where he is and call back you.” They called after 5 min and said that “Don’t worry; your booking is at 8 am so the driver will reach on time, within 10 min.” When at 8.10 I again called the driver, the drive said…”What Madam, I am waiting here since half-an hour, long time”. I didn’t say anything and tell him to come inside the gate and said “I am waiting, its already late and 8.20”. And he replied cheaply and surprisingly that “What late…. If its late then what can I do…(Late hua to mein kya karu usme…)”. I didn’t reply to his ugly harsh reply and behavior as I was in tension and doctor appointment was at 8:30, patient was with me. Then he came and when we boarded, he said…”Whats that, u cancelled ur booking!!! And didn’t inform me!!!….call center ko phone karo, mein nehi ja sekta.”

I almost begged him to go as my mom (patient) was getting late for doctor. But he was adamant like a local Don. Then I again called call center and all these took another 10 min. Finally we reached the hospital but doctor was left by that time. Some of the driver's behaviour is really like Local gundas.

Meru — Meru cab irresponsible-inconvenience for ladies to travel

I booked a Meru cab almost 20 hours before my boarding time (8:45PM 3rd DEC 2010) from Powai to Ghansoli to ensure that I get the cab service.At 8:50pm I got a call from Meru cab telling that since there are no cabs available in the vicinity to Powai they cancelled my request.If they would have informed this atleast 2-3 hours before I could have arranged for other alternative means of transport.
As I'm not a localite of Mumbai I did not know the way to go home as I depended on Meru cab and being a lady I was confused how to travel at night without knowing the bus route.
I had to take a rickshaw till Mulund and walked a lot from Mulund Checknaka for about 30minutes without knowing the way.Luckily I got a rickshaw on the way to Thane station.Finally from there I travelled to Ghansoli.It was almost 12o'clock midnight that I reached home.All because of the irresponsible last minute cancellation of Meru cab by themselves without asking the person who booked for it.

On the way I met another lady standing confused at near Thane and when I checked with her she also booked a Meru cab and they cancelled her request also in the same way at last minute.We have to ensure that proper action should be taken against these kind of irresponsibilities.

Meru — Backout

I had booked a meru cab on 8/1/2011, they sent me a message with my reference no. and stated that my cab booking was successful and the cab would reach me on time. Still i called them up an hour ago the time of pickup to confirm my booking. The attendant took my reference no. and told me that my booking was successfully booked and the cab driver details would be sent to me 30 minutes prior to the pickup time. I had booked the cab at 11:30 PM to the international airport. The meru attendant calls me up at 11 :10 and tells me that they won't be able to send me a cab as none of them is available. This has happened with me a couple of times earlier but i ignored it. However, now it has become their daily routine to backout at the last minute. I request serious actions to be taken against them.
