I too have the Nokia 1650 handset. I'm 100% sure that it has some manufacturing defect in hardware and software. Radomly the handset used to switch off automatically and it comes up again.
Problems with Nokia 1650:
1. After 3/4 months my phone was not at all coming up even it switch it on. I reported the problem in Nokia care Chennai. They told handset has some hardware issue and said they need to send it to delhi and asked to wait for 2 weeks to get the problem resolved. So finally they given me back. It is finally coming up when i try to switch it on and vice verso. So i was happy that time. Bad thing they don't even provided me any stand by mobile as it is their fault.
2. After 4 months my handset is again giving me problem like auto switch off and auto switch on while i'm on call, while charging, etc.
3. The other problem each and every time it prompts me to enter the security code when it is being switched on. That too other problem is i'm not able set the ring tone. Under my ring tone no "ring tone" is being selected which inturn the phone not even rings out when i'm getting incoming calls. Even i don't see the vibrate mode works under this condition.
4. Worst key pad not able to detect some key press.
Again i reported all these problem to Nokia care, they took the keypad detection problem and they said water went inside the keypad which leads to rust on the board. So we can't even upgrade the software. If we try to upgrade the handset may go to dead state. (Your warranty got cancelled as it got rust on the key pad.)
How Nokia customer care people in chennai are. Smartly they are escaping from customer.
So Frndz, pls don't choose the NOKIA 1650 model. It is worst model in NOkia.
Very worst customer care for Nokia. They don't bother about customers. They need to replace the handset. To escape from that these guys are playing cheap tricks in Chennai Customer care.

Hi... i have nokia 1650. i m not able to set the ringtone. whenever i try it automatically switches off & when it restart it ask me for the security code. i put the default one & it works again. but phone will be always in silent mode without vibration. i sometime missed important calls. please suggest me the solution.

NOKIIA 1650 — worst mobile
I have purchase a nokia 1650 handset from a hotspot mobile store, EDM Kaushambi, Gaziabad on the date of 28/06/09.when I reched home after the insert a sim card I switched on the mobile phone but the display light has not be on. I called up the hot spot shop they said they want to see that.when I reached the hotspot shop after 2 days they said we cant help you please visit the NOKIA CARE .I took my phone and I have discuss in NOKIA CARE kohat inclave Pitampura Delhi they said you have to submit your mobile phone for their head office I have submit my moble on 10/06/09 an my job sheet no[protected]/09070/45 and after 20days I have done a call to nokia care than they said your moble is non repairable and collect it..now mobile is useless.I have lose my Rs.1700/-
