Nokia N79 — Poor NOKIA CARE after sales service | |
I am sharing my experience with Nokia Care Agra I bought a Nokia N79 handset 4 months ago. After 3 mnths of purchase my (1,5 no.) keys were not working. They examined the phone & just after 5 mins told there was hardware problem and asked me to collect it after 15 days.(This irritated me) . After 11 days they called me up and said to collect a new phone as my phone could not be repaired. I was excited to collect the new phone. When I went thr they gave me an old phone with scratches all over the keypad and screen. this made me angry and I shouted at the lady for cheating me. (my original phone didn't had any scratch) . I didnt accept the phone. They told they will never give a brand new phone as it was against company policy. I asked them to give my old phone body with new hardware. Which they told cant be done. i waited for more 15 days to collect another phone .This time its condition was better. So with no options left I collected this phone with a new IMEI number. Moreover, they changed my Xpress-on Cover with another one. Now I have 2 back cover of the same color. all apps were deleted. No wavesecure, no full version n gage games, oxford, theme diy etc. Well these can be dloaded but the game cant be made full version with the activation code that I got at the time of purchasing. More twist is that my GPRS was not working(mind it i am a hardcore net user) there was some problem . so i again went to N care. They resolved it but now my keypad unlock button at the top is not working. Above all NOKIA ALSO SUCKS CAN nokia authorities answer these questions. 1) What will u do to a phone 1 month old. If it cant be repaired . Will u give an old second hand phone to its user. 2) will nokia activate services like nokia maps,ngage subscription again. Becoz after s/w change the subscription goes. 3)Why will nokia not install all its pre installed 3rd party software. Big boss these are small and acceptable things which a leader company like NOKIA can think to implement. Was this information helpful? | |

The N79 is a very buggy phone from the firmware to the hardware. I myself being an N79 customer can tell this. Listen my phone developed a blank screen problem. I took it to Nokia Care, they told me my warranty is void as there is liquid in my device. I was shocked as there has been no water spill to my phone. I took my phone back.
I sent a notice to Nokia head office about my issue requesting for replacement or i will sue them and will approach media. And after 4 days they replied and told they will replace my phone. The next day i was given a brand new sealed N79 from Nokia care. You can do the same.
