[Resolved]  Nokia N97 Mini — Faulty Handset

Respect Sir/Madam,

I bought a new Nokia N97 Mini on[protected] from Nokia Priority Centre at Fort and since day one it has been giving just problems

Initially on all calls there was whistling background sound always coming and the touch screen interface was not working properly. I first called up the Nokia help centre and surprisingly Nokia has no telephonic support in Mumbai so it was a STD call for me at Bangalore. The technician suggested a few steps and then asked me to visit any Nokia Care Centre. Being a working professional its difficult to immediately take out time for these things. So in a few days I visited the Nokia Care Centre near Andheri station as it was on my way back to home.

They examined the phone and asked me to come and collect it next day. I went the next day and the only thing they did was not update the software on the phone. This resulted in me loosing some of my preinstalled applications which came with the phone and 2 free movies also. Anyways, I just wanted my phone to be working as this was specifically bought for official communication.

I was being told that the phone cannot be replaced and only repaired as replacement only happens in first 48 hours. This is absurd for me as by the time one explores the features of the phone and check if everything is working fine the 48 hours are over.

Now its not even 2 months and I am again having a problem with the phone only working on Loudspeaker mode and not on normal Handset mode. I have resetted the phone to factory settings also but still no luck with it.

Requesting you to kindly help me in taking care of this issue as I have spent Rs. 18600 on this phone and its not up to the mark in anyways. And its difficult to everynow and then visit the Nokia Care Centre as this takes up so much time courtesy to the long queue and waiting there.

One can imagine the quality of phones Nokia is manufacturing seeing the long queue there.

Nokia — Faulty Nokia handset N97 Mini

I was sold a defective Nokia handset on 19th February , 2010, vide receipt No 4453/dated 19/2/2010, Product N97 MINI - costing Rs 23000/-. Seller Nokia Priority

The handset was not working properly right from the day one. I made several trips to the vendor and reported its malfunctions. The vendor did not take notice of my complaints and twice he kept the phone with himself to experience the problems however he returned it and finally when the problem persisted, he sent me to the Nokia service station where the phone was declared as beyond repair under warranty terms & conditions and the repair was costing Rs 7500/-.

I have been subjected to severe mental stress on account of huge loss of money for no fault of mine. My humble request to you is that I may be compensated for this loss. (1) replace the handset with a new one. (2) payment of Rs 30,000 for causing me mental stress and harassment and wasting my executive time. (3)Befooling the customer with an improper product.

n97mini — Faulty handset

I had purchased the n97mini handset (IMEI no. [protected]) on 23rd May, 2010. Within a week, the handset showed major and minor symptoms such as, when it was on the charger, it never charged. The applications such as the locking-up of the phone was not responding. The handset also shows unauthorized/default accessory when the headset is attached.
The handset has been given for repair and the concerned authorities say that it has been sent to Delhi for further repair services. Furthermore, we were given a second-hand handset of n97mini few weeks later (i.e. on 4th September, 2010) which was not mine (I had purchased a copper-coloured handset but I was given a black coloured handset). I refused to accept it. I was again given a copper-coloured handset which also didn't belong to me. They again took a complaint on 25th September, 2010 and the target delivery date is 3rd October, 2010.

Nokia N97 Mini — N97 Mini Handset Problem

I have been using Nokio handset from 2004 and was a loyal customer since then. I purchased the Nokio N97 Mini in MAY 2010. and i was having an issue with it from the first month. I GAVE THE FIRST SERVICING IN JULY 2010. The problem was never rectified. Till date i have given servicing thrice and the same problem occurs and never been rectified. I have asked for a replacement from my first service which was never acknowledged. Now the service center in Annanagar says it had requested for a replacement from HO Delhi but they have just returned it from repair. Its really frustrating I work in shifts and have a two year old son and everytime i have to travel aboy 20 - 25 kms just to reach this service center.
