[Resolved]  PNB — RE RETAINING OF ATM CARD BY OTHER BANKS ATMs

Dear Sir/Madam,

To all Banks,

I want to draw your attention towards unnecessary inconvenience caused to customers of Banks when they use them on other Banks ATMs which capture ATMs while processing Payment or other transaction.

What happens if a person of Delhi e.g. tries to withdraw cash in Haridwar and by whatever reasons may be that power failure, wrong passwords, card already blocked not activated etc etc , naturally this card will be retained. And what the Capturing Other Bank Branch says "Approve your authenticity to card".

It means no-one will try his card on Other Banks ATM cause it is quite unauthorized problem created by BANKs.

What happened to me ?

I have ATM Cards of OBC, SBI, PNB, IDBI and one day I have my OBC Card (Haridwar Branch Ranipur More SB A/c [protected] SHREEKANT THAKUR) which was deactivated due to expiry and I contacted my Bank and on my request they made an entry in system so that my same card get actiavated. I was thankful to my Bank's Service. This was on 30th August, 2011.

Now, after 24 hours on 31.08.2011, I tried my OBC ATM at PNB Branch ATM of Gurukul Kangri, Singhdwar, Haridwar. This was a capturing ATM and my card was not activated still, so this PNB ATM captured my ATM Card. It was around 8.30 PM, Bank ATM Log Book can be referred. By chance Bank was opened so I went to Branch Officials and said what happened. Bank Official said me to get my signatures attested from my OBC Card issuing Branch.
No matter I got my signatures attested from my Bank so that I may get my Card Back from PNB. I went there on today on 03.09.2011. Bank Official checked the all ATM Cards reatined by Bank ATM which they withdrew from ATM before two days i.e 0n 1st Sept.2011 as per them. But my Card was not their. How is that possible.

Today, Bank Manager and Chief Manager said there was not any card cause if there were any card it would be among those cards obtained by bank from its ATM on 01.09.2011. Since I do job 60 Kms far from my Hometown, so naturally I do not get time during office hours and today I specially took half day leave, but Bank Chief Manager again and again forced that "If your ATM Card would be there, it was with the Bank Official." What is this Attitude ? How a Bank's Chief Manager can react to other Banks Customer in such a manner when they do not have any right except that we by mistake tried our ATM Card at other Banks' ATM. If Other Banks Managers / Cheif Managers do not have behavior manners then why they are holding posts ?

So, request to PNB to take strict action against Bank's staff who defaulted and lost my ATM Card. Harassed me. I could get my money but now I can't because I have requested a Duplicate ATM from My OBC Branch. But this is not the solution for my problem. Banks should not retain cards under any circumstances, it will also end up a unnecessary procedure of all Banks which results in wastage of time and also results in harassment for other Bank's customers just like happened to me today. I am writing this for suitable action for Bank's behavior to me and Bank's irresponsibility in saving interests of customers who transacted on its ATM. It may happen with anybody and anybody can come under problem. So, please take action against the Bank and also discard the ATM's feature of capturing ATMs.

I hope PNB will take strict action for irresponsibility, ill attitude and customer service. I shall be thankful.I do not know the names of all the staff of PNB Signdwar, Gurukul Kangri Branch, Haridwar but I talked to four officials including chief Manager and Manager. Please investigate because whatever happened is no fair and can not be fair to anyone. This matter also has been forwarded to all Banks for the benefit of all customers from problems and also to remove this unnecessary problem causing activity of Banks.
