Everybody takes Autowalas for granted. We are too much prejudiced when it comes even to think about an Autowala. I am really of a point of view that Autowalas should be given all the facilities that they deserve to get. They are also contributing in nation building. Many of them don't even realize what their contributions are. They are amongst the largest consumers of petroleum products in automotives. When they consume petrol, auto parts, tyres, accessories they are also contributing to the nation via indirect taxes in huge volumes as petroleum and automotives are heavily taxed. They earn huge revenue for the government and the government do not provide them even with the basic facilities like shaded auto stands, toilets, medical aids, good roads, education, legal aid etc. There should be tariff regulatary committee in every district headquarter to review tariffs of public transports. Government should encourage self-help groups and provide them with more than 75% subsidies in servicing autorickshaws for automotive problems relating to emissions and faulty meter or meter defects. Passengers should talk to them politely and thereby encourage them to do so. Today lots of educated people have also taken up this profession out of choice. These people are already suffering due to bad governance as the government could not provide them with better employment opportunities suitable to their education and skills. Hence we should not let them down and consider all legitimate demands for their betterments and overall social upliftment.

I got left on the road midway by this autoguy last night.. claiming that he didnt want to take a long u-turn after he dropped me to my original destination. I cant believe they treat women this way.
