[Resolved] Pune Traffic Police — wrong fine | |
respected sir/madam, this is an incident that shows the present condition of our traffic police department. today when i was returning from my college, a traffic police stopped me and took away my licence. on asking my fault he said i was not following lane discipline. to let you know, i was coming from dandekar bridge and was going to mitra mandal chowk, as there are only two ways i.e. one right and other left. i was on my bike, to the end of the right lane, still 2-3 vehicles could have been accomodated in the lane. but still the police charged me with a fine of RS 200. i tried to explain them that i was not wrong and was following traffic rules, but all in vain.they said we are serving the people. they demanded papers of vehicle, on showing copy they said they want original. How would some one carry original papers, imagine if my bike is stolen with original papers. the two officials on site were, B.A.SONAVANE regn no. 2890(in white uniform) and RAJENDRA KALE(in khakhi wardi). at the end i had to pay fine of rs200. i request you to kindly consider this matter. I would surely pay fine if i m wrong, but why should i, if i havent done anything wrong?is this how they serve people? Was this information helpful? | |

PMC is charging Rs 500/- for No Parking area whereas as per Govt Rules it is Rs100/- what is correct. It was informed PMC is acting on behalf of Pune Traffic Police. Kindly inform what is correct? Receipt no is 206452 Book No 4130 dated 2/4/09.

I am also in same boat ... As there was road development work going on Kasarvadi square . I was beside of truck I moved ahead of truck and going on side, It is not all on coming from single or single crossing , I was on railway side ... I was saying all the condition, those people are very rude and this S B Pawar fined me ...even he has not written reason on the slip. it does not have slip number but back side number is 3355640 on dated of 31/10/09I know nobody will take action against such people .... Hope GOD will punish such people and they wont be happy in there life...at all

Hello, Near Big Bazar on Sinhgad Road, there is a newly developed foot-cycle path.People knowingly park their vehicles on this path.Big Bazar security just watch them and do nothing. BB should be charged for this. Also the vehicle owners should be charged.This scene is very common on this road. Please do something.

I work in IBM yerwada.Recently i have taken a wrong way by passing through a road divider to my office as most of the employees do that .As taking a U turn at traffic signal will take 10 min more to reach office.So as i took wrong way one traffic police caught me and charge a fine of 600 rupees.He was very rude to me, when i asked him to show the fine charges booklet and he told me to pay 700 rupees and collect bike at station.so finally i have to pay 600 fine with a challan given to me.Please take my request and do needful

Pune traffic Police are stupids. How else you can explain "No Parking" sign near City Pride Kothrud and Big Bazar there? There is hardly any traffic on this road except for the visitors to City Pride and Big Bazar. There is ample of parking space on either sides of the road. Even Towing Vans of traffic Police are overtly active here. Thses "Sakharam" in white vardi derive saddist pleasue in towing unobstructing vehicle on this road than the one really obstructing the traffic elsewhere. It is clear case that Traffice Police are acting hand in glove with managements of City pride and Big Bazar to ensure that their paid parkings are alweays full.

On the date 10/2/2010 i was going from Swargate to Bibwewadi at the signal just opposite to Swaminarayan theater (near Citypride), on that chowk signal was green & i was passing through signal but at that time 1 Swift car just stand in front of me ( i think driver was confuse where to go ) and thats why I applied break and I was standing behind the car. at that time signal made orange. till i cross the road (because i was in center of the road) one guy (he was on bike) just stroked and he ran away . on that time signal made Red . this all incident happened within (near about) 5-9 seconds .one traffic police was observing all the incident because I was just near to them. he stopped me and ask to come in side . I politely stopped because I knew that I haven't broke signal or traffic rule . there were 5-6 police with white uniform and one in khaki . they asked me my licence, I shown my licence then he said give fine of Rs.100 and reason is line cutting. but I haven't done anything wrong. I was discussing and explaining all matter to 2 police in white and 1 in khaki but they were not listening to me. they said give Rs.100 on go to COURT. I was shocked what is happening...why I should I pay fine if I haven't done wrong or haven't broke any traffic rule. I was explaining like mad but no one was listening though one of them was watching all the incident.I am from middle class family, I can't go to the the court because I can not afford all court matter and I paid Rs. 100 for fine. if my father is rich in that case i definitely go to court and can take serious action. the police in khaki was "Sunil Patil (API)", I don't know his registration number.but my receipt number is "sh-6557934". All know this is Feb and march ending they have to complete their target but what the hell happened was wrong.
I request you to kindly look into this matter. I would surely pay fine if I am wrong, but why should I, if I haven't done anything wrong?is this how they serve people?

They are a corrupt few. Today they lifted my bike from Aundh and demanded 350 Rs. Upon asking for the receipt they told me that they would take my bike to the police station and I could get it from there after paying the fine. Also, they told me to hand over 150 Rs if I wanted the bike to be released straightaway. I paid 150 Rs and then when asking for receipt told me to bring the papers. I am planning to go the the Anti Corruption Department. The lady inspector on charge was Some Mrs. Sapkal.
i guess pune police are a buch of vandals. they wanna make money by getting on the nerves of citizens in form of a bribe. even though we post complaints against these cops the complaints are disposed as the people in the dept recieving our complaints are also corrupt cops..they function like a pack everyone is corrupt.

Me and a friend of mine were approaching a signal near university of pune and it turned yellow. so we stopped but in doing so we crossed the zebra crossing slightly and were taking our bike back. but the traffic police said that we have violated the rules. if we would have went straight ahead then they would have charged us with a fine for breaking the signal. some officer Shirke in a white uniform was there and he was extremely rude.. in the end we had to pay rs 100/- for not violating any rule..
another incidence was when we went ahead during the yellow signal near ICC trade towers the traffic police caught us saying you are supposed to wait during the yellow. the police do not know their own rules and they accept the common people to know them.
and the language they speak is disrespectful.
its just a money making business for them.

And yes in the continuation of the above comment he also took the licence and when we were trying to justify ourselves he said that you can go to the court to do it..
If some senior officer is reading this please its a humble request that you probe into this matter because many people are suffering and the name of the entire traffic dept is getting spoilt because of a few corrupt and rude officers.

Pay n park on d road, harrassment by the traffic police, accidetns, vehicle insureance claim settlement, vehicle theft, awareness of trffc rules, lot more things, plz email ur names n cell nos on [protected]@yahoo.co.in to register. plz be member at d earliest. Spread this meseg to ur frenz, we can gather every sunday to discuss our probs. n take action.

Today most of the traffic signals were not working, they were either off or blinking Orange. In afternoon when I was on FC Road, about to cross the Good Luck Chowk, there the signal certainly become Orange and then Red. The moment it was Red, a Traffic Police came in between and stopped my Bike, he took my Bike Keys and asked it park aside, another Police name Pawar came took my License, asked me to pay Rs. 400/-. I don't know whether I was guilty or not, but I admitted the fault of breaking the signal. But all of a sudden I was surprised when he wrote the complain that I as driving Rash & Fast and hit the Traffic Police who tried to stop me and for which I have to Pay- Rs.400/- or go to Court.
Then I understood that if they will charge for Breaking the Signal they can only Earn 1/4th of the amount i.e Rs.100/-. "Good Business to Earn Money". Actually they are in wrong profession, they should be Lawyer instead of Traffic Police.
And now when I went to the Traffic Police Station near Modern School in JM Road to pay the amount, a Lady Police while writing a Receipt of Rs.400/- was telling to another in their regional language that- "Its Pawar, he is awesome, he never charge less than 300/- or 400/-.

myself vivek i am studing in mmcc college... when i came out of my college gate waiting for my friend three police men came and ask for licence i gave them they said that pay fine 300.i am having licence why should i have to pay fine. i asked them that what is ma fault thy said that you are standing in NO PARKING and ur bike is in no parking.. i said that i m sitting on the bike i m waiting for ma friend he is coming in 2min.. they dint said any thing just started filling fine slip at BMCC ROAD. i dint hade mony they gaveme a slip n said go n pay in office collect u r licence there! so shuld public has 2do?? why shuld i have 2 pay whan there no fault?? so plz take action...
