I bought a Philips Juicer (JE HL 1631/J) on 3-3-2009 from Reliance Digital Store, Fun City Mall, Shahdra, Delhi on 3-3-2009. We tried that evening to take juice of 'Lauki' but it did not work properly as with difficulty most of stuff was not crushed. The literature with Juicer also mentioned not to use it for fibrous fruits like pappaya etc.
So I wanted to return and buy another one. The very next day I went but was refused return & replacement with another one inspite of the express condition of sale for replacement/return within 7 days.
More than that, the sales & customer service staff were rude. Even after 2 hours the In-charge did not bother to come. So I wanted them just to write on my Sales receipt that customer had visited. Even that was not done. After I was halfway to my home in Sarita Vihar, some one tried to phone me up.
I realised that it was no use breaking my head with the staff and I left the Juicer there itself. Just half an hour before I had placed orders worth 80, 000/= to Reliance Lifestyle store next to them and to me it looked that I was being foolish to spend my time on a purchase of less than Rs. 2000/=. So I thought it to be a gift from me who holds Reliance share to my own company of which Mr Mukesh Ambani is the proud Chairman.
This is in contrast to similar shop Reliance Digital, Shipra Mall from where I bought the LCD TV a year back.
I don not know what to make of it. A complaint to Consumer Court for Rs 2000/- is not worth my time and energy at age 70.
