[Resolved] SBI ATM - Cum - Debit Card — 2 ATM Cards in 1 SBI Account in same name! | |||
In the year 2005 I lost my SBI ATM card; I reported to police, filed a GD, wrote an application and submitted to my bank's branch. Additionally, I also applied for re-issue of a new ATM card in replacement of the lost one. After about a month, SBI issued a fresh ATM card in my name and it arrived at my postal address along with the PIN in another post. SBI assured me that my lost ATM card has been deactivated. After 2 years, when SBI started charging an annual fee for debit cards, I found out that SBI is charging me for 2 cards! I was surprised and the Personal Banking Manager at my branch told me there are two cards in my name - both active and hence SBI is charging for 2 cards. I was greatly taken aback hearing this blunder on part of SBI, they kept my lost ATM card active for 2 years and kept assuring me that it had been deactivated! That's ridiculous! It means they completely ignored my written application along with the copy of GD! But they did not ignore the application for a fresh card! After this is a long story, branch kept sending me from this table to that table, from this staff to that staff - but now its 2011, SBI has not rectified their mistake in these 6 years and the most striking illegality is done by SBI here: 2 ATM cards in one person's name in a single account!!! I've reported to branch manager, I have reported to city's main branch, I have reported to SBI grievance cell - nothing helped. Was this information helpful? | |||
