[Resolved]  Sofa World Pvt Ltd — Extra charges on Credit card usage

I bought a Kurlon mattress (aramesh 75 * 48) from Sofa World at Kondapur, Hi-tech City showroom at Hyderabad on 27.09.2009. As the bill was being prepared I offered my credit card to the cashier and he said he will charge me extra for the credit card usage. When I brought this to the notice of the manager present he also agreed that it is the practice here to charge 2%extra for the credit card transactions and i have to pay the same.
According to the executives present there, the reason why they take 2% extra is because the bank charges the same, and they conveniently passes it on to the customer.
When I asked them to mention the same on the bill they refused to do so and mentioned that this would be charged directly to the card account. When I told them that I would be taking this matter up with the concerned authorities the answer was that you are free to go to any extend.

I request the concerened authorities to check on this and let me know if this practice doesnot violate any unfair trade practices and cheating of public.
