[Resolved] Sony Bravia Lcd Tv — LCD panel failure
I bought Sony Bravia LCD in 2008, after 2 years LCD TV Panel has developed a display problem. I contacted Sony Customer Care. After a struggle of 2 weeks with Customer Care asking them to send someone to check the problem, Sony technician comes to check. He has reported problem in LCD Panel and that needs to be replaced. How can LCD Panel fail after 2 years o[censored]sage. Is there no quality for the expensive product. LCD Panel replacement cost is 12000, I can get new TV at the same cost. Why should I replace the panel and after another 2 years it will have the same problem. Nobody can afford this cost. Sony company should replace panel for no cost. But they are no doing anything. Sony products has decided to take advantage with the faith we have developed with them for years. I am not sure what to do with this problem. Was this information helpful?

I also purchased Sony in early 2008. Bravia KDL- 52xBR4. About a year ago the picture began to go bad. After being on for a while it would warm up (I assumed) and began to flicker then pop! Then image was fine. Then it would take longer and longer to do so and at times it would go bad again after on for awhile. Other times it would stay OK for a long time. I got fed up and had the store I purchased the TV pick it up and ship it to their repair shop. The LCD panel is bad. They want $2, 600 to replace the panel. A $3, 500 TV lasted less than 3 years. I asked to have them send it back. I will use it until it dies. Perhaps turn it on and leave it on. I will start looking for another TV but very unlikley I will every buy a Sony. I usually buy middle grade stuff and this was s splurge for our brand new home. I hope there are brands that have the quality piture I was told Sony had and with quality Sony once had. And at a more reasonable cost.
