[Resolved]  Sony Digital Camera (DSC - P200) — Servicing

Dear Sir / Madam,

After long awaited phone call form your local franchisee last week, I came to know that my camera has now ready for delivery subject to clearance of full payment. Since you are very much aware that I had compelled to purchase one camera in the month of OCT-2008 (investing Rs.20000/= cash) in lieu of the said camera against which presently I am not in a position to invest further Rs. 7000/= towards the repaired set which is meaningfully financial burden to me. You surely appreciate that this burden has ascribed on my shoulder with no fault of me & completely at your end which I can’t afford.

However, as a bonafied & law abiding citizen my proposition to you is to seek your consent to allow me to pay the said amount by four equal installments supported by warrantee as usual against the said repaired camera.

All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us see this transaction through. This will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect from many breach of the law.

I must implore you to exercise the utmost indulgence to keep this matter extraordinary urgent, your favourable decision, while I await your prompt response.

As a bonafied customer since inception we used to purchase SONY Products & accordingly purchased one Digital Camera (DSC-P200) against which we have paid in full timely as a law abiding middleclass citizen.

During the month of SEPT-2008 we got some problem out of the said Digital Camera for which we have took the set at our local SONY Service Centre office at M/s. NEOSA Electronics Pvt. Ltd, Nachan Road, Bhiringi More, Benachity, Durgapur-13, - Ph:No:[protected]/6531305, where their representative ( Mr. Karmakar & Mr. Poddar) with a commitment to return the same duly repaired maximum within 4/5 days under paid service vide their Job Sheet No: WDI-127/8, Dt:[protected] . I have also expressed my request for quick delivery of the same due to forthcoming "Durga Puja" Festival when an armature photographer like me, need the camera.

Most alarming fact is that, on completion 4/5 days time, your local Service Centre not even bothered to convey any massage to me rather I found the said centre has closed due to Puja Holidays. Somehow, I able to contact the Service Centre through SONYWORLD with a request for any spare Camera on loan basis for seven days considering forthcoming "Durga Puja" holidays. You Franchisee people rather preferred to enjoy themselves during holidays than to support any common consumer like me. It is crystal clear that you’re appointed Franchisee desperately ignored the goodwill of SONY & also violating Consumer Norms. You have every right to cross check my appeal with SONY WORLD, Durgapur.

Nevertheless, while we have tried to communicate the said local Service Centre to solicit the matter, their representative simply contempt & misbehaved with us like anything. Considering forthcoming "Durga Puja" Festival we have no other option but compelled to purchase another New Digital Camera form Durgapur SONYWORLD in spite of my stringency of fund against which we have also paid in full.

In spite of our vigorous efforts your local Service Centre unfortunately did not show any interest to solicit the problem, as a result we are passing through irreparable regular financial loss thereby we are unnecessarily exposed in to undue financial hardship, troubles and harassment from your side by purchasing such items.

Nevertheless, after one & half month we had received a phone call form Mr. Alfred Gomes who offered me to get the said camera repaired by the SONY Service with a cost of Rs, 7, 500/- against which all spares was expecting shortly from Singapore. Finally on 17th instant I have received the under noted mail form you stating “cost for the rectification of your set is beyond economical repair”. It was my turn to surprise once again. I like to add here that I haven’t received any communication from the said Service Centre till date though a reasonable time has been elapsed.

Hence, we strongly feels the urgency to deny and refute the contention of the purported intention based mail on the arbitrary and biased attitude of the SONY Service without examining the spirit, bonafidity and perspective of the subject issue and exact legal ambit thereof.

Hence, there is virtually, no fault on the our part, may we appeal before your good self to extend complete relief & extend natural justice keeping in view of a bonafied customer & goodwill of SONY which is earning just bad name by appointing such Franchisee. We can't expect such rude-motivated behavior from a reputed concern like yours which badly hampers the goodwill of such big brand & removal of infatuation of consumer from such reputed brand.

Nevertheless, my appeal is not for any mare communication/grievances but for the natural justice against which you may investigate the same as per rule for which we shall like to see the end.

However, being a bonafied & law abiding citizen I can't cope up mysel[censored]nder this unethical environment, - I can't tolerate further. Please apply your good conscience about my cooperation by which I allow you to prolong the instant issue but this time we have nothing alternative but compelled to take shelter of appropriate forum for justice followed by a request before you for immediate complete relief.

I surprised to noted the contents which is completely contrary to the fact.

Mr. Alfred Goms has contacted the undersigned over phone who offer me to convey my varbal sanction of Rs. 7500/= towards cost of repairing of the said camera. He also confirmed that required spares will be procured from abroad which are expecting any time. Though a reasonable time has been elapsed nothing cameup fruitful till date.

Hope, you will do something on priority basis.

my camera model no DSC-W180/SC E37

when i swicth on the camera, i got the error on screen as reinsert the memory stick.

however if i insert again, then also read the same error.

pls do the need full.

I have purchasing Sony cybershot camera model number DSC-W350. It is ON and OFF problem then front camera lens are not closed for that condition.Till date that condition failure for that camera.
