[Resolved]  Sony Ericsson — Service and repairs

I had got the Joy stick of my Sony-Ericsson K750i repaired from a Sony-Ericsson service center in Gurgaon, but after 2 days of that the phone display went white, and when I took the phone back to the service center the manager refused to handle the phone he said that the phone may have got damaged due to the software getting corrupted or some problem in the main board of the phone, how ever he confirmed that the Cap of the Joystick was not fixed properly. The cold response from the the Store manager made me write to the Sony-Ericsson customer service mail id, how ever I did not get any response from them.

Sub :- Bad Service

I am Sachin Sonawane, Working in Tata Consultancy Services . I am using Sony Ericsson mobile products.

I have submitted my Sony Ericsson k550i handset for repairing on 16th April ‘08 as the Handset is not working / got dead. When I visited the service center on 22nd April 08, they have detected “ motherboard ” problem. Then i asked when the handset will get repaired, they are told me that please come after one month. They are giving me really bad services. I tried to give my complaint in Sony Ericsson customer care no[protected], they refused to register my complaint saying they are not concerned with these complaints. On requesting again they told that will look in to the matter and will call back in next 48 hrs but still I have not received any call from customer care.
When I again visited the service center after 5days they told that it will take 18 days more for the resolution.

Requesting you to plz look into this matter as nobody is properly responding to my problem.

I need to repair my SE K790i with proper care.As I unfortunately dropped my cell in water, but after 1min I when i got the cell I opened it and remove some outer coverings n battery...now my cell is performing every functions, even the display is viewable, but the light which should emit, to show the contrasts n brightness of the display doesnt seems to right..
Plz help me out from this big trouble by refering a good service point in Chennai,

Sony / Handycam — Transfer of points to imint points

I came across this site while I was searching for imintpoints.com in Google.
In my credit card statement, I came to know that the points I have earned on purchase of the handycam have been transferred to imint. More over, the balance lying unexpired in my account has also been transferred to imint.
I am not being able to log on to imint.com, but from some of the complaints I have seen on this site, It is totally uncalled for.
Before a person purchases a card, the option of reward points is advertised very aggressively. Later on when you earn some points and want to redeem them, you are taken in for a ride.
This is unjustified and not in keeping with sound business practices.

I purchased Sony ericsson w580i phone from chennai with one year warranty. But within 3 months i got display problem in my mobile(black lines on the screen). It day by day increased. I approached the Sony service station. They reason what they told is very shocking for me. They said due to water get inside the display got affected and this problem is out of warranty. In this hot summer the temperature is more than 100F. I argued with them. They told due sweat in hands the phone was affected. (I think we souls use the phone in Himalayas only). They are not at all willing to replace the display. They asked 2000 RS for repairing my mobile. I can give 100% assurance i never expose my mobile in wet area. They cheating the customers. When i was in the Sony service station three more w580 mobiles were come with the same problem. They repeatedly telling the same story to every one. If we got problem in key pad, charger etc kind of low price items only they changed. Otherwise they bluff like this only. I planned to book a legal act against the Sony errisson and my retail seller. I have proper bill, warranty without any use. These kind of response and problems only encouraging the grey market. Then what is the different between the authorized shops and gray market.

I purchased a sony ericson mobile j120i just 3 months ago.It had a battery problem.I visited the sony ericson service centre on 07/05/2008.On 15/01/2008 i went to receive the phone and found that the same problem persisted.And it is also unable to catch the network.The service centre told me that it is due to my faulty sim card.Then i asked them to prove it by insert a other sim card.They forced to give back the handset .but the other customer also supported me.after inserting a other sim card, it did not work and they took my handset to repair.But they returned my battery, though it was faulty.

Sony Ericsson / K750i — Service Not getting done

SONY ERICSSON IS JUST A BRAND HYPE AND DOESN'T ABOUT THEIR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS. ITS ALL FAKE PROMISES THA YOU GIVE
I had a Sony ericsson K750i mobile which I gave it for a service in an authorised service cetner of Sony ericsson - Durga Communications, Kammanahalli, Bangalore. I gave it on 9th April 2008 and was promised that it will be ready in 4 days. Now till date I am behind the service center person without any use. In the mean time I called the customer service center of Sony Ericsson 3 time and all the time I was assured a call back which never happened. This is giving great difficulty to me as a customer. I am not expecting this kind of a dealing from companies like Sony ericsson. Sony ericsson support center is some thing which gave more insult to me than the service center.

Sony Ericsson — Wrong information on website

SUB: WRONG INFORMATION ON SONY ERICSSON WEBSITE - DUE TO WHICH WRONG MOBILE WAS PURCHASED

I purchsed W580i on 11.05.08. This is my first SONY ERICSSON phone which was bought because of its BRAND IMAGE. As per the sonyericsson website specification sheet, it is mentioned this phone as 2 MP camera with 4x zoom. In actual, 4x works only for VGA mode, which I came to know only after the purchase & from its brochure . I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT INCOMPLETE/WRONG INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO ME (BY SONY ERICSSON SITE & RPG CELLUCOM (DEALER)). Based on this wrong information I have purchased this phone which doesnot fullfill my requirements o[censored]sing it as camera (2mp) which is its one of the highlighted feature. I WANT PROPER SOLUTION/COMPENSATION FOR THIS PROBLEM.

Complaint for the same has been logded with customer care with complaint id: SE534-8426 on 12.05.08.

I have saved "A COPY OF THE WEBSITE SPECIFICATION SHEET", captured on 12.05.08 which doesnot specify the correct data.

I am not able to get any contact no. of SONY ERICSSON official/represenatative personnel to raise the issue & get possible remedy.
They (Customer care) are not accepting for providing any compenstation or taking back the handset nor they are accepting their mistake.

I request you to help me in this regard & save other people from getting duped.

I donot feel many people know about this feature of W Series. Please spread this information to others also.

Sony Mobile W910i — bad product and rude dealer

I have bought Sony W910i on 17th feb from jlk Enterprises(galleria) for Rs 17000. From day 1 I am experiencing problems like
1.call disconnect.
2.Voice break(in local calls and in std you can only hear 2 words of a sentence)
3.No voice clarity
4.Signal problem(Emergency call message is there almost all the time)
5.Display goes off.

I have contacted dealer several times but first he told me that it's a software update problem. After updating the software the problem remains there. He is a very rude and unprofessional dealer. Now he says we don't manufacture products its a sony product go to sony don't come to us.I am fed with the mobile. Don't know what to do.

sony z520i — display

I had purchased Sony 520i about a year back, and since then the display problem has been coming . About 4 times I have changed the flex cable, and each time I give for servicing it takes about 4-5 days to get it rectified . and only Salora Services in HSr layour - bangalore has this facility and no other service centre accepts the same.I hd changed the cable on 4th april and now its again not working. Everytime I cannot be spending Rs790/- on the cable .

Is there any solution to the problem ?

I bought a Sonyericsson P1i in Dubai Duty Free late September 07. A month later, in Kuwait where I work, the phone turned itself off. When I turned the unit back on it went in a loop of turning on, showing the SE logo, displaying the progress bar as if to complete the boot, and then turning itself off - it has been like that since.

I contacted the service center(Fono) in Dubai that was on the warranty. I was told that they cannot honor the warranty and that I should contact the place where I bought the unit.

I contacted the SE service center in Kuwait (Barrak) where they looked at it for a couple of hours then told me "to bring it back to dubai."

I went back to Dubai in December, 07 and contacted the Customer Service of the Dubai Airport Duty Free Shop - where I bought the unit. I showed the person at the counter the problem (booting on and off) - I was told that they will arrange for the unit to be sent to their service center. I went back to Kuwait.

In JAnuary, 2008, the Duty Free emailed to inform me that they couldn't do anything with the unit and attached to the email was a report from the service center saying that the motherboard of the unit is bent; and that the unit has been misused - and that I should collect the unit.

How could I have misused a brand new phone for its motherboard to bend? So I wrote back in protest.

They said that the SE service center in Kuwait might be responsible - and that I should have contacted the Duty Free first. But the warranty said that I shoud contact Fono - which I did. Who contacts the retailer for repair anyway?

A lot of pages of email later, I went back to Dubai in March and collected the unit.

So now, I have a Sony Ericsson P1i that's been used for only a month, that boots on and off and still under warranty (until Sept.2008). I have long since bought a Motorola Z6.

Lessons learned:

Do not buy a phone in Dubai Duty Free Shop. If I had gone home to Australia, it meant that I had to go back to Dubai to have it repaired. Also, what is the sense of issuing me a warranty card that was inaccurate? I will never shop there again.

Sony Ericsson's customer care service is appaling. The service centers in the Gulf are incompetent. I have two service centers pointing fingers at each other. By the way, I bought my first Sonyericsson phone in 2003, a T610. The same thing happened (booting on and off) but there was no problem fixing it in Australia. But because of this bad P1i experience, I will not buy another Sonyericsson phone again.

I am thinking of hiring a lawyer. What do you think? If there's anyone who could help please contact me.

SONY ERICSSON HANDSET K810i

I purchased the above handset from Mobile King, Penta Menaka, Marine Drive, Kochi-682031 on 01.03.2008.

The set became completely out of service on 29.04.2008 and I was directed by the dealer to contact the service centre. Accordingly I gave my handset to Messrs. Accel Frontline Limited, Opp. Veekshanam Press.

The set was delivered back to me on 23.05.2008 saying that the board has been replaced and asked me to check up. Since I did not have my sim card with me, I tried to check the handset in the evening at home. The set is still having the problem of becoming off and on, which was the original complaint.

When I contacted the supplier, he informed that he cannot exchange with another set. In the meanwhile, I will be contacting your service centre once again. In case I fail to get a brand new set as free replacement, I will be forced to take suitable remedial actions. This is for your advance information.
