[Resolved]  Style Spa Furniture — Defective products

On 31st August 2008 vide Order Form No. 78324, we booked/ Purchased a recliner (3-seater-Black) from Mumbai, Ghatkopar showroom and paid a sum of Rs. 8, 000/- (Rupees Eight thousand only) towards advance confirming our order. Again on 3rd September 2008, vide order form no. 78329, the balance amount of Rs. 30, 246/- (Rupees Thirty thousand two hundred and forty six only) was paid through cheque no. 018642 drawn on Centurion Bank of Punjab, Mumbai. At the time of booking, we were assured of delivery will be made within 10-15 days. The cheque was debited to my account on 5th September 2008. We were not delivered the furniture as per the agreed date and from 15th September 2008 onwards we were told by the branch employees as “the required colour was not available, the item was not dispatched from Chennai and it will be delivered within couple of days/etc” and kept postponing the delivery schedule/date.

On 21st September 2008, finally we decided to cancel the order and gave our cancellation in writing and requested the branch to repay the entire amount paid by us. With lot of difficulty, the same was acknowledged by the sales person at that branch and at that time, we were told the cheque will be delivered within a week’s time, since the entire operation is centralized at Chennai, (where we did not have any option to counter claim).

Within couple of days, we got call from the branch manager, to accept the furniture, since they were arrived from Chennai. On his personal assurance, we have reconsidered our decision and accepted his proposal. Again the same was not delivered as promised (because of your delivery schedule Wednesday and Saturday) and finally two packets (with consignment no 072479/[protected] – Product code-999907) were delivered to our house on last week of September 2008. Since the outer cartons were torn re-packed with some tapes, we were not sure of the condition of the goods. The same was acknowledged with remarks as “contents not checked for any damages”.

The assembly did not take place on the date of delivery. When asked for assembly of the furniture, we were informed that the technicians will be visiting in couple of days and they will assemble. Finally on 2nd or 3rd October, the technicians visited to our house and assembled the furniture. At that time, we noticed the following defects.

1. On the left hand side, the pull lever of recliner is very loose and not working normally.
2. There were some damages (torn leather) on below the side arm rest.
3. The Back cushion/s are of different size and
4. There were lot of wrinkle on sitting cushion resulting in multi folding (may result in cut/tear at later stage).

The same were properly brought to the notice of the technician and requested him to escalate appropriately and for earlier solution/change of new one. There were no response from the branch.

With-in couple of days, the left side recliner stopped working. The same was informed to the showroom and the technician visited (after vigorous follow-ups) to our house and informed some problem with the assembly and the some parts needs to be replaced. He also informed the order will be placed with HO for parts.

For over two months, we were made numerous calls (many times unattended/put on hold/with indicative dates) and also visited personally several times (during week ends) in order to fix the problem, without any success. Finally on 6th December when we again visited personally, we were once again (as usual given false promise) told the some body will visit and fix the problem but never happened.

During this trouble period, when we try to escalate the matter with the Branch manager, he was not available and we were informed by the showroom employee/s the same will be communicated with him. The irresponsible and cold attitude of the showroom manager is also disappointing. He never returned the call and always the calls are being attended (if attended) only by the sales personal.

We are totally unhappy with the un-fair trade practice (at the time of booking when we asked for the make, we were never told it is an imported one and were given to understand manufactured in India, at Chennai) and un-professional approach of Style-Spa. We feel we are cheated, we have paid for recliner and got something which is as good as ordinary sofa.

Also, we have not received the proper invoice from the branch. When asked, we were not got any proper reply. I never expected such kind of trade from reputed group like Birla.

defective bed sold to me no response from the showroom. what should i do?
Similar experience in StyleSpa Bangalore. The personnel at the shop were pretty confident that escalation to the regional office will yield no results. In my case the furniture was damaged on delivery. This was never rectified, inspite of numerous calls and letters to the company.
Similar experience in Vashi. Was sold a bed by saying that the length is 200cm and when delivered, I was delivered a bed with a size of 228cm. On being asked the sales man told me that by mistake he told the length as 200cm and now he cant do anything. he also told that if we want to complain we can as no action will be taken.

I have had more shocking experience with Style Spa.
I bought a 6000 Rs cupboard from x in Kirti Nagar and at the same time I bought a cupboard for 30000 from Style Spa. While my 6000 cupboard is fabulous and no complaints, the 30, 000 Rs cupboard was not only delivered incomplete and has holes where locks should have been but also fell apart and the drawers collapsed in 15 days. I have been making polite calls to them and have even visited their showroom to see I can pick up the locks and fix them myself - but they have not only not acted - but most importantly have not even once thought it prudent to even speak to me.
The Motto of Style Spa is once the money is with them - they will never deliver and if they deliver it will either be broken or incomplete and if they at all set it up - it will fall apart in days. A good lesson to all those who think that by paying 5 times more and trusting names like KK Birla is any safeguard from these cheak crooks.
I agree with you. you have to give continusly complent at style spa at [protected]@stylespafurniture.com you will get definatly solutions from them. and I request you that if your goods r damaged then at the time of delevery do not accept that.

Hi,

Recently purchased bedroom package from Style Spa Chennai AnnaNagar. Paid the full amount and was promised a delivery date. Then the delivery date was changed twice. Fine with me.

And they came to delivery the package at around 8.30 PM and told that the fitters will come tomorrow.

I didn't accept the package and returned the truck saying only will accept when I see the fitters.

The next day they came to deliver the package saying the fitters will come after 30 minutes. I told, let me see the fitters only then the package will be accepted. The fitters came after 2 hours.

The wardrobe is not what you see in there showroom. In the showroom it is all in perfect conditions.

This is my final conclusion. Please never buy from style spa. They are liars, not prompt in service, and the quality is not what you get as you see in the showroom.

Please keep these in mind, before making a decision to buy from style spa.
i had purchased a wall unit from stylespa calicut for rs.14000+ which has started rotting down within four years of purchase . no body seems to respond positively to complaints
except promises nothing is being done
we cannot believe in brands any more

AT THE TIME OF MY DOUGHTER MARRIAGE, I WAS GIFTED FULL FURNITURE IN OUT SIDE FROM MY HOME TOWN THEY ARE TREMENDOUSLY GIVEN EVERY THING ON TIME WITH OUT ANY REMINDER AND PHONE CALL .

AFTER DELIVERY THEY GIVEN GOOD ASSEMBLE SERVICE ALSO, IT IS VERY PROUD TO ME IN MY FAMILY THAT EVERY ONE APPRECIATE FROM MY DHOUGHTER IN LOWS FOR THE SAME.

I bought a Chancellor Sofa set from Style Spa store at Ghitorni, New Delhi few months back. The day we received the sofa and was fitted we tried sitting on the single seats and it toppled. We brushed aside this as an accident. However every time a person sits on this single seater and gets up, it gets toppled and many a times guests have fallen. After several such incidents we understood that there's a problem with the single seater sofas and repeatedly made telephonic and in person complaints to the store. The salesman, Mr. Akhilesh kept committing that he would send someone to check but no one turned up for 4 months. After 4 months on a follow up visit he finally sent a person, Mr. Tiwari and this guy informs me that there is a fault in the design of Chancellor sofa and that they cannot do anything about this. I spent more than a lakh on buying my first so called 'branded sofa set' with my hard earned money and am duped by Style Spa. No one had the courtsey to call back since the last visit. I would strongly suggest the readers not to buy any furniture from Style Spa they are all cheaters sitting in garb of salesman there. Once you have bought something they would never entertain you leave apart attending to any complaints. I would be very happy of one the senior officers at Style Spa reads this review and tries to convert my experience into a pleasant one. Till then I have completely written off Style Spa from my furniture requirements and have advised my friends and family too. As a next step I am taking this complaint to Social media and will ensure that my experience of Style Spa's horrible customer service and product quality reaches every person. I have enclosed a picture of one of the sofa seat and please do not go by the luxurious look of it. This sofa has a design fault and no one can sit on it without toppling. We fell for the look of it too and now suffering each day.
