[Resolved]  Toyota, India, Etios Car — Non delivery of choicest car

Dear Sir,
This is to bring to your notice the inconvenience and harassment caused to us by your dealer Millennium Toyota ( Vile Parle, West, Mumbai).We had booked ETIOS GSP (Harmony Biege) on 25/6/2011.After having booked the car the person in charge there told us to make full payment so that they can block a beige colour car for us and get a speedy delivery i.e. within one week from the date of full payment. Keeping in mind the TOYOTA’s reputation of Customer satisfaction first, we put full faith in the dealer and we made full payment on 2nd July 2011. However till date the car has not been delivered. After repeated inquiry by us we were told that car shall be delivered to us on 29th or 30th of July. We had no option but to wait and wait. Then on 27th July we get a call saying that a Biege colour Etios is not available we have inquired with the Banglore factory. They only gave us long explanations and stupid excuses. Then they asked us to either change the colour or the variant to have car delivered on 30th. We were not ready for either options. A customer after spending so much amount will not and cannot accept a lesser choice.In fact it was only when there were heated arguments in the showroom in presence of other prospective customers, did he agree to deliver the car of my choice. Also our old car TATA Marina was taken by them on 26th of June saying that we shall get our ETIOS within a weeks time. Now all these things have caused a lot of inconvenience and tremendous harassment. So kindly look into the matter and give us a suitable compensation failing which we shall approach the Consumer Court to get justice.

Since you have booked your choicest car with your hard earned money and great passion. I can only request you to show more patience. Since you have ordered a color which is not liked by majority of the customers and Toyota may be producing fewer quantities of the color required by you. This can not be attributed as the fault of the dealer because dealer is only the agent in between the customer and the manufacturer, who sells the vehicle for some commission.

Where as sometimes these dealers delay the sale of vehicle on receipt of the advance or full payment to create the false impression on the customer. This hype or the unrealistic delay in supplies is used to demonstrate that the manufacturer is full of orders and our new vehicle is in great demand than the supplies. This is to create superficial que of orders.Whereas I am sure if you will visit the warehouse of the dealer which may be in outskirts of the city, you will be surprised that a dealer normally holds 200-400 vehicles at any point of time.

This superficial delay in supplies created after receiving the partial or full payment is also a guarantee for the dealer that you will not change your decision of buying some other brand vehicle.It also ensures to the dealer that the customer will not demand any free accessories or discounts in the pricing of the vehicle.

In your case all the below mentioned points clearly show that you are vulnerable to above mentioned points.
1) Advance Payment for booking 25/06/2011
2) Taking your TATA marina by the Toyota dealer 26/06/2011
3) Full payment made on 02/07/2011

Now when you have given full amount of new car and the old car is also withe same dealer this is very good for manufacture and the dealer as you will only ask for new car and no discounts. You can be made happy only with the delivery of the vehicle. All your negotiating expectations are subdued.

Final advice, please wait for your delivery and later enjoy the ride.

i have recently bought TOYOTA ETIOS LIVA DIESEL 2 weeks ago and when i checked the car at my place i found that the body line of the car was not in proper shape, ( fender, door and railing below doors were not aligned properly) there is a manufacturing default in the car and then i went to your dealer in dwarka from where i bought the car, they started giving me vague answers that we dont know any thing about this its a technical issue, may be workshop people can help you in this. As the dealer agreed himself that there is a defect in the car but still he was just making excuses and throwing the ball in the others court and now i have to deal with your workshop people.

i havnt driven even 100 kms and you can even check that there is no fault at my end.
kindly look in this matter otherwise i would have to approach court for the justice.
