[Resolved]  VODAFONE ESSAR LTD. STORE, ANDHERI(W), MUMBAI — CELLPHONE REPAIR

I BOUGHT A NEW MOBILE (BLACKBERRY 8900) IN DECEMBER 2008. I HAVE ONE YEAR WARRANTY ON THE MOBILE. FEW WEEKS BACK THE MOBILE STOPPED WORKING SO I GAVE IT FOR REPAIR AT THE VODAFONE STORE IN ANDHERI(W), MUMBAI. THEY TOOK MY MOBILE AND SAID THEY WILL FIX IT AND GIVE IT BACK TO MY WITHIN 14 DAYS. THEY ALSO PROVIDED ME A DOCUMENT WHICH SHOWS THAT THEY HAVE MY MOBILE FOR REPAIR AND WILL BE DONE UNDER WARRANTY.
NOW, AFTER TWO WEEKS THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX MY MOBILE AND IF I WANT TO REPAIR IT , I WOULD HAVE TO PAY RS.19,000/- . WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. BRAND NEW BLACKBERRY 8900 COST IT RS.24,000/-. I CANT AFFORD TO PAY THAT AMOUNT SO I TOLD THEM TO RETURN MY MOBILE WITHOUT FIXING IT. NOW, MY MOBILE ARRIVED FROM THE VODAFONE REPAIR CENTRE AT ANDHERI(W) VODAFONE STORE.

THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME MY PHONE BACK, THEY ARE ASKING FOR RS.2100/- IF I WANT MY MOBILE BACK. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO PAY THIS AMOUNT WHEN I FIRST GAVE THEM THE MOBILE FOR REPAIR. EVEN THE DOCUMENT THEY GAVE ME WHEN I SENT THE MOBILE FOR REPAIR DOES NOT STATE THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY RS.2100/- . AND WHEN I ASKED THEM WHAT ARE THE CHARGES ARE FOR? THEY DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER, ALL THEY ARE SAYING IS, IF I WANT MY PHONE BACK I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE STORE RS.2100/- EVEN THO THEY HAVE NOT FIXED MY MOBILE.

AS OF TODAY, THEY STILL HAVE MY MOBILE AND THEY HAVE NOT FIXED IT BUT THEY ARE STILL ASKING ME TO PAY RS.2100/- IF I WANT MY MOBILE BACK.

THE VODAFONE STORE WHO HAS MY PHONE IS LOCATED AT Monisha Building, Shop No 5 & 6 Irla Bridge, 76 S V Road.

Send me a mail with your contact details and I would be able to help you out with the same, as this is against the law and be it Vodafone or Blackberry, they can't play around with consumer rights...don't pay them a penny and I will help you get your phone fixed from them free of charge (only if there is no water damage)...as that is not covered under any warranty

Vodafone — mobile repair

Sir,
I deposit my cell phone on 17 jan 2011 to Dey & Sons Vodofone Mini Store Binnagrui cantt Jalpaiguri. till date they did not repair the phone. I went to them so many times but they allways response that come next time.so you are requested that please solve my problem.
