[Resolved]  Vodafone — Deactivation of the account without prior notice

Dear Sir/Madam,



I am a Vodafone customer for the last 4 years using the no. [protected]. The Vodafone No. mentioned above has been actively used ever since I bought the no. and it was valid till the month of May, 2017 along with a some balance in it. However since I moved to Hyderabad for work and my Vodafone SIM has become my secondary no. and I have been using it scarcely off-late.



Recently when I decided to use the same number, I found out that the no. has been deactivated and it is also allotted to somebody else. This transfer of the no. was done without my knowledge or my authorization in fact even without any prior notification to me. I expect the company to email me notifications such as these as I had mentioned my private email address in my personal details/communication section of the form I had to fill up along with the necessary identity proofs on the basis of which the SIM was sold to me and activated which is why I expect a company of the stature of Vodafone which has operations in 30 countries to follow some standard procedures of informing the client before handing over the mobile no. to another individual since you already had the information. Vodafone thereby cannot claim to not having necessary data to inform me.



In this information and communication driven era a person’s identity is his/her mobile no. and such a theft of my identity is unacceptable from a company which has operations in 30 countries including the United Kingdom.



I thereby request you to kindly look into the matter and reactivate the above mentioned mobile no. in my name which has been in my possession for over 4 years now.
