Deccan Herald — Not receiving news paper - Deccan Herald Yearly subscription

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

The Deccan Herald yearly subscription service is a waste.
It worked well for a year, but at the end of the year, before the expiry, the agent stopped supplying paper. When contacted, he told us to call Deccan herald office. They seem to resolve the issue and the paper supply restarted

Hence I renewed for the next year on October 7th 2013. BA350G8 is the subscription number. PRB - 00412. Rs. 899

However, since 17th November 2013, the agent has stopped supplying papers claiming he is not receiving the copies from DH office. He told us to call DH office

1. First call to dh office[protected] promised call back - no one called back
2. Second call - promised to resolve issue with agent Mr. Kumar. No resolution
3. Third call - escalated to Mr. Prasanna - who promised call back. No one called back

This needs to be taken seriously and action needs to be taken against DH for promising service at subsidised rates, and not providing service. The customer is taken for a ride, and no one claims responsibility for this act. For a paper as well - known as DH, this is totally unacceptable

After couple of calls more, and finally calling on the DH representative Mr. Prasanna's mobile, he assured me that he spoke to the Agent Mr. Kumar and got the issue resolved. I received the paper today morning and MR. Kumar also confirmed that he has received payment.

Mr. Prasanna's claim is that the agent is creating problems for many residents because he wants to hold the supply for our layout.
Mr. Kumar's (agent) claim is that he has not received payment from the DH office for the past three months and hence he was not supplying the papers.

Overall - there is still no clarity over why these issues are occurring and who is exactly at fault. Whether its the agent or its DH themselves who are to be blamed. Customers need more transparency and if either DH or the Agent comes forward and speaks out the actual issue clearly, things can be resolved without it having to get so messy and argumentative. Why does such a simple thing as delivering paper have to turn so complicated?
