Dell India — Battery problem & automatic working condition

I am facing problem with dell inspiron 3500series.
I make the full battery charged.Than i shut down the laptop.After 4-5 hours the low battery light blinks even in not on condition.
It seems to be automatic on condition.
& its processor side gets hot as in case of working condition.
I purchased it 15 days ago.
I want to replace it.
Company gave me the technically defective piece.
