I purchase a laptop New Vostto 15 3500 series on 3 rd Jan at 8 pm through Dell.com site with the order number[protected] and internet receipt number IN[protected]. But when I reviewed the order I found that I have ordered a 256 GB SSD version rather than a 512GB SSD version because both the version are exactly the same and only have this difference of SSD and i immediately wrote to them at 9:30 pm that I have erroneously placed the order kindly change the configuration to 512 to 256GB SSD.
No contact happen till the morning as there is no way to contact them except creating a ticket which I created as [protected] and when 9am i called the customer care they said you can write to [protected]@dell.com and they said: "because it is just received and not gone into production so you can change the configuration, there will not be an issue".
I did that. But till afternoon when I didn't get any reply I called dell customer care again the Srinivas from the customer care said that he is writing a mail to sales then and there and that my problem will be solved as it is still not gone into production and I will be able to change the configuration as it is a very minute change.
He assured me that within 24 to 48 hours I will get a response from the sales team and it will solve my issue.
But a couple of hours later the sales team has called and said that they can't do anything in it and if I want to change the configuration which is from 256 to 512GB I have to pay a restocking fee and there is no option of change.
So this is my first experience with dell customer service which is so unfriendly that they will not listen to customer requests and neither they give any solution. This is a very minute change in the configuration in the same product and timely information is sent to them but still, they refuse to entertain that request and forced us to buy the product or give the penalty as a restocking fee.
SO I HIGHLY CONDEMN THIS BEHAVIOUR OF DELL CUSTOMER CARE AND WANT MY REFUND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THAT I CAN GET OUT OF DELL'S RELATION.
I have decided to break all my ties with dell and decided to cancel the order even if it means it's a battle to recover my money..
But I will not recommend anyone to buy from dell directly as they have pathetic customer service and they never listen to customers and find a solution.
