Dell — Sold premium product with substandard quality. Now refusing exchange.

Address:New Delhi, Delhi

Alright people, here is the case at hand. DO NOT buy anything this expensive from Dell. And I am not saying this out of fancy but I am an unfortunate owner of the all new 'very well marketed' XPS13. I Bought the top-of-the-line i7 touchscreen XPS13 worth 1.3L in June-end and it is just Septemeber...the screen of this thing is gone. All of sudden while working on the laptop, 75% of the screen goes non-responsive. Believe it that I haven't even used the touch screen feature of this thing more than twice maybe and they have absolutely no reason as to why would it go bad in just the 3rd month. I love my gadgets and usually invest in technology because I belong to this field. Even more so, I love investing in the security of these things because I do understand that they're sophisticated. But even after all of that care, such things would always disappoint you because companies like Dell are here to just rip you off your pockets and continue to sell substandard products to the Indian market. To the max, these guys sent a service engineer to my home to replace the screen (and that is a different story altogether because the screen packaging had a different cost than on the invoice. The screen of this thing according to the invoice is just 7K. Ya, right! but if you go the out of warranty, the same screen would cost 3 times.) Coming back to the topic...the screen got replaced yesterday and now the corners of the screen show uneven patterns as if it is been refurbished. It has permanent areas that look almost like the way you'd see when you press on a touch screen hard. And it appeared to me only when I saw a full white screen. The grey bleed shows then! I asked them at the very first hand, even before they sent the screen replacement, if they would replace the whole unit for me because this was just 2 months old and none o[censored]s would want to see our new unit being dissected like that. Their answer was that they have no such policy irrespective of the customer & product type. And these same companies have different policies in other parts of the world. Who would want to sit on a faulty piece after spending 1.3 lacs? So my honest advice to every fellow gadget lover here would be to steer clear of Dell Enterprise India. They would not even mind replacing your beloved gadget with refurbished parts, let alone replacing a faulty piece. My experience with Dell has been atrocious right from day one. At the time I bought this machine, there was an online offer of Free leather Hidesign bag going on and the Dell store I bought this from refused of any such offer. Steer clear fellows and don't burn your buck for the substandard product marketed with a cherry. These guys would still consider you to be someone who'd buy an entry level laptop from them.
