[Resolved]  Sathya Hospital — Regarding wrong diagnosis and mistreatment by a doctor

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to bring to the limelight a major concern regarding wrong prognosis done by an ENT specialist by the name Mr. Srinivas who visits patients in Satya Hoapital, Kamanhalli on Weekdays from 7pm onwards with the address given as under:

No. 45, C. Ramaiah Layout, Kamanahalli Main Road, St. Thyomas Town Post, Bangalore-560084.

I had taken my father Richard Gomes aged about 64 yrs and booked an appointment with the doctor on 10th of June at 7pm. My father was complaining of an ear pain extending up to jaws and the head with a hint of giddiness and loss of balance.
He had got his pressure checked a day back and it was normal. The doctor asked him whether he had any injury in the ear by any means. He confessed that he had used an ear bud to clean his ears. When the doctor checked with his precision torch he declared that this pain was because of a rapture caused to his ear drum while cleaning.
We had no other choice but to accept the facts as gullible individuals. He then went on to prescribe a few medicines to ease the pain. The medicines are named as Zedocef, Rabonik (Pain killer), and Erinac for 5 days.
When we asked him whether the medicines given were anti bio-tics to which he started acting cocky and gave us an evasive answer saying that " You don't need to know what exactly it is that i am giving to you . You just need to take it".
That is not becoming of a doctor in such a profession. A patient has every right to know what he/she is being administered. We are not uneducated imbeciles.
After taking the medication for three days, his condition aggravated and his face started getting deformed and the pain shifted from the head to the jaws and finally to the mouth and it was very unbearable. He was unable to stand on his feet and open his eyes and mouth normally.
It was then that i took him to a neurosurgeon in Hutchins Road who immediately identified the crux of the problem as "Bells Palsy" which is a paralysis of the face affecting the facial nerve connected to the brain and causes the face to get deformed with excruciating pain. A little more delay could have been fatal.I could finally bring my father back to life and now he is taking medicines along with Physiotherapy and recuperating to normalcy slowly.
I honestly feel that such doctors should be penalized and put behind bars with their licence to practice confiscated. They mislead people to wrong diagnosis and wrong medication which can sometimes be fatal. I would like to lodge a complain against this doctor on grounds of culpable homicide and appreciate some proceedings and inquiry to be conducted against him by suitable authorities. I want him to apologize for his mis-conduct with a Senior Citizen and accept accountability for wrong diagnosis.

Hospital — Wrong Diagnosis

Dear Sir

Iam Archana Maneesh .Two years back i had two abortions & finally a Doctor X in Chennai declared & issued a medical certificate stating that i have a bi-cordinate Uterus.I had to undego a lot of test & mental & physical agony & spent lot of money in a multi speciatly hospital after the doctor X declared the problem mentined above.

Later just one month back when i took an HSG x ray we were all suprised to see that i had a normal uterus & there is no problem with the same.

Can i charge a case againt Doctor X ? If i can how should i proceed for a speedy juctice? I have suffered a lot of mental agony more than the physical sufferings & i think i have the right to get justice.

Kindly advice.

Regards
Archana Maneesh
Dear Querist,

It is indeed unfortunate that medical healthcare in India is taken so lightly and often, patients are taken for ride at the whims of the doctors and/or hospitals/clinics.

In your case, please issue legal notice immediately as well as lodge criminal complaint against the errant doctor and thereafter, file complaint against the said doctor in the State Medical Council as well as submit a copy of the same to MCI. In the meanwhile, try to obtain expert opinion and do some research on medicine so prescribed.

Trust this would suffice. However, you may revert should there be any other or further query. If you need help at Bangaluru, please feel free to contact.

Best wishes.

-Regards Tejaswini.
Ms Tejaswini,

Its better you spend time and efforts in making your hospital and services better instead of false publicity on social network. Your father's hospital lack the basic etiquettes of hospitality. People come to hospital to get well not to get infected. Your staff is not even sensible enough to know that they have to change bed covers after a patient leaves and a different patient comes. All the curtains are so dusty. We have taken a delux room which is supposed to have ac in working condition. There is a very old ac which doesn't work and despite complaining no resolution has been given and we get a response from the staff stating that ac isn't working from months. Isn't this cheating you charge for the ac room without the ac working
This Sathya hospital at Kamanahalli is one of the worst and horrible hospital
my father was diagnosed Necrotizing fascitis Dr. Nagalakshmi did the surgery and she had gone for a vacation for a week and gave the in charge to Dr.Sheshadri who is called a professor according to sathya hospital who is not fit to be nurse also he didn't even bother to see the wound condition and later Dr.Nagalakshmi came after a week and checked the wound it was infected more due to sheshadri negligence my father has to under go 2 more surgery which has made the wound more deep and painful there is no proper co-ordination and communication between the doctors he was admitted for almost 10 to 12 days only 2 days doctors visited which was useless visit we underwent so much pain, stress so much money was spent to invite hell out this hospital so friends pls do not invite hell (Sathya hospital) they are not service oriented they only loot money, we spoke to Management who is called shuba we told her the issue she is cooling answering that what you want me to do and later she started raising the voice and run away from the place and they have one rowdy there at the billing section that guy is saying what you want to do it we are not least bothered abt it we are ready to get in to any level by folding his cuff and somebody has to look in to it give justice.
