My Pregnant wife (Ms Devyani) suggested to perform routine Urine Culture & Glucose test which she booked from Dr. Lal PathLabs home collection.
On 29.04.22 both Urine & Glucose sample was taken from home at 6:30am by a person name Sagar Maity. (Attached receipt) which was registered in their collection unit around 7.01 pm (almost after 9 hours) as per Dr. Lal Pathlab portal and then received at processing lab at 2:30pm next day (Attached all documents).
Dr. Lalpathlab collector called 29th evening to recollect the Glucose sample stating it was contaminated. The sample was collected again on 30th April morning. However no such information was shared regarding Urine sample which was also has equal possibility of getting contaminated. Please note the cost of Glucose test is Rs. 100 and Urine Culture test is Rs. 500.
The report o[censored]rine culture test came Escherichia coli - 100000 colonies/ml grown on 3rd May 2022. This report created panic to my Pregnant wife who then rushed to Doctor Shilpita Banerjee (Gyno). She immediately referred to see Urine specialist of Medica Hospital.
Considering the severity of high infection & resistance medicine as per Dr. Lal PathLabs report, Doctor prescribed Fosfomycin which is a grade B antibiotic which has its risk & side effects during Pregnancy.
As we realized the Blood sample was contaminated and there is significant chance the Urine sample might also has the same as both were collected at the same time, we did another test from Ashok Laboratory to reconfirm before visiting Medica.
The report from Ashok laboratory confirmed there is no Infection in urine. (Attached report). It also indicate the Urine sample collected was contaminated due to mishandling by the Dr. Lal Path Labs staffs resulting to horrible report.
My Pregnant wife has to consume Fosfomycin based on the doctor prescription on 3rd May. We now don't know what adverse effect it will have on my Wife and 2 babies she carrying due to this wrong treatment caused by Dr. Lal Path Labs negligence.
We want Dr. Lal PathLabs to take strict action against the staffs responsible for such act. We also want Dr.Lal Path Lab to compensate for this negligence.
