Hi,
I sent a courier from DTDC on 4th of June this year from Pune to Faridkot containing a LED TV and its components. The tracking ID for the courier was D17679245. When the package was delivered, the receiver informed me that the packing was not proper, in fact packing was not even completely sealed and the thermocoal supporting the TV were missing. This caused TV to receive some serious physical damage. The package was sent back to Pune by the receiver at the time of delivery itself complaining that the packing was not proper.
When I checked the LED after it was returned, even I can see that the packing was not in proper condition at all. Additionally, at the time of dispatching the courier, I have informed my dealer that the TV was slightly damaged but still want the set to reach the receiver in best state possible. SO, as per their request I also paid the insurance amount of the set. However, due to my surprise when the set was sent back, I checked with my dealer over the bad packing, they seemed quite reluctant over the fact that the TV was already damaged, it was not their mistake that the packing done was not proper and they do not take any liability for fragile item. This came as quite a surprise for me as now I was not able to understand that if the responsibility for fragile item is not taken by DTDC, then why do we pay the insurance amount at the time of dispatching the courier.
Anyways, I still feel that at the minimum the packing of the courier should have been proper and there should not have been any item from inside the packet missing. I request you to kindly look into the matter and inform me if I am eligible for obtaining the insurance amount.
Also, I mailed the complain to css.[protected]@dtdc.com on 11th July received any yet. Please help.
