[Resolved]  Flipkart — redmi note 5 pro defective feature - refund request

I purchased a Redmi Note 5 Pro (4GB+64GB) product from Flipkart on 30/05/2018 with Order ID: OD[protected]. It was delivered to me on 01/06/2018 with 10 days replacement warranty for a defective phone. The mobile was purchased by me as the phone boasted of its wireless display feature for connecting it to TV for screen casting.

Unfortunately, I found that this feature did not work as advertised which is the main reason for purchasing this mobile by exchanging a very good quality Oneplus 2 phone for Rs.4630/-. I raised a support for replacement as this feature could not be used on my TV, VuTV.

Flipkart have assigned an engineer from Jeeves to rectify the defect. The Jeeves engineer visited my residence on 07th June between 19.00 and 20.00 hours but could not be able to connect and screencast (mirror casting) Redmi Note 5 Pro and Vu TV. But, though the Vu TV was detected by the network in the Redmi Note 5 Pro phone but the phone could not establish connection. Therefore, the defect has not been resolved.

He tried to establish connection with my another phone, Realme 1 and his phone, Vivo which had seamlessly detected and connected for screencast without any hurdle. After several attempts, including hard reset, software updates the issue was not resolved and the Engineer left my residence stating that he would update Flipkart regarding this.

To my dismay, I found that Flipkart have rejected replacement vide Return ID:[protected] stating that We're sorry. We are unable to process your replace request. Having annoyed with this reply without assigning any further reason, I again placed a return request. Then I came to know that the service engineer from Jeeves had made fake update recording that i was explained and satisfied with his attempt for resolution. This time around no further engineer visits were arranged and based on Flipkart CSE talking to me explaining that the defect is because Redmi Note 5 Pro do not support casting with Vu TV. This is an absurd of a statement, as there is no such disclaimer by Xiaomi or Redmi Note 5 Pro regarding unavailability of this Screencast feature with VuTV. And again my replacement request was rejected vide Return ID:[protected] stating that We're sorry. We are unable to process your replace request.

In as much as the feature is generic and not brand oriented it should work with any TV or if it does not support any other TV then such a disclaimer should have been incorporated either in Xiaomi website or Flipkart product listing. When nothing is published as such, then it is within the Returns Policy of Flipkart as the Redmi Note 5 Pro phone bought by me against the Order iD above mentioned should be treated as a defective product and replacement arranged. And in case if the replaced phone is also defective, then refund should have been arranged.

To avoid their deficiency having been brought to light, Flipkart have connived with Jeeves in demolishing the rights of the consumer for their cheap policy to fool the consumers to protect the sellers rather than the buyers. The replacement time limit of 10 days is exhausting on 10th of June, 2018 and because of dilly dallying tactics of Flipkart this time limit is getting near and they are avoiding replacement / refund for selling defective mobile phones. Hence, I request your good self to intervene with Flipkart and do justice to my hard earned money invested for purchase of feature rich phone but ended up buying defective featured phone.

Spoke to customer and requested to check with other smart TV and get back us if the issue still persists.

My redmi note 5 pro speaker is not working since second day of my mobile use... Has informed already to flipkart.. Some engineer was assigned to visit my residence.. But no one turned yet it's not even 15 complete days since I started using the mobile... One of the worst service by flipkart which dissapoints their customers!! No replacement option and no return options!! It looks like I have been ruined With defective peice
