Dear Sir/Madam,
My child's application was made at Mumbai FRRO for the conversion of PIO to OCI card where it was acknowledged in beginning of March-2016.
The acknowledge receipt states that it could take as long as 75 days to issue OCI card. It has been now more than FOUR MONTHS and I have checked the online status today where it still showed 'UNDER-PROCESS'.
My child's school term arrangements in UK are yet to start soon and we need our child to travel back to the UK. It is vital to have OCI card for the purpose of successful travel, but we are facing delays on application outcomes as you can see above. Please guide us with your expertise if there could be any other option to avoid any further problems. Your support in speeding up the OCI approval would be highly appreciated.
I kept calling on[protected] but no one is picking up and some times it appears as dead connection. I also emailed them on [protected]@nic.in but no one is giving genuine response. Is this how Prime Minister's (Narendra Modi) goverment valuing their NRIs? My wife and I applied for my OCI from UK and we successfully received our OCI cards within 14 days. Why there is such a huge difference between applications handled between UK visa services and FRRO? Does that mean FRRO is good for nothing? Was this information helpful? | 
FRRO — Delay in processing
Applied for OCI in 2015, got acknowledgement early this year but still Under Process.The staff is not sure about the status of application and say its with MHA, New Delhi. It is against the time mentioned on the website for issuing the card i.e. 42days from the date of acknowledgement. There is no communication and the applicant is not informed about the cause of the delay.
