I've been using bsnl broadband services for couple of years. I work in the it field and i also occasionaly do day trading on nse. I needed robust internet connection for my job so i've asked for the biggest data plan thinking that it would be robust and fast. I've opted for their 2400 rupee per month plan (With speed of 8mbps and 80gb data) which by market standards is a big loot, but i still opted for it because the bsnl office was near my house so i thought that if i had any connection issues, customer care would be easy. But contrary to my belief the speed was never above 1mbps and the connection was not consistent. There are times when there wouldn't be any connection for weeks. I've logged complaint both online and offline, but it was of no use. It was only recently i found out that they had line issue for several months and that they have throttled my connection for consistent connection (This was done without my knowledge). My patience ran out when i pay around 2.5k month after month for the service that i couldn't use. The connection would just go off for few hours every day. Being a trader in nse i suffered heavy loss due to connectivity issues. I got so fed up i switched to my mobile internet and never used bsnl for two months. Now when i reached them to disconnect i was told to pay 4.7k + for the past two months for the months i couldn't use the service.
To pay a premium of 2.4k for very little benefit is one thing. But to pay 4.7k+ for no connection and to have put up with their # customer care and service is too much for even me.
