HDFC Bank — Account closing

I wish to close my salary a/c - [protected] with HDFC BANK, KAROL BAGH, NEW DELHI – 110005. Bank officials are asking for RS 1600/- as a fine on me for not keeping balance although my salary a/c was opened on condition of zero balance facility. I approached bank many times earlier but every time they assured me to wave off all fine & requested not to close a/c. but this time they treated me like a loan defaulter & suggested me to deposit fine of Rs 1600/-. They gone to extent of saying that WE KNOW HOW TO RECOVER MONEY . Your kind intervention is required for needful.
