I have been using hdfc ergo car insurance services since last 3 years. Last year i had opted for "ncb protection" add on which clearly says "even if you make a claim we shall keep your no claim bonus discount intact for the next renewal of your policy. So, that you enjoy the premium discount." (Pfa the screenshot for reference)
But, on contacting customer care on call / through email i was told that the ncb protection is only applicable in 3 conditions as mentioned in faq page.
- damages to windshield glass
- loss to parked vehicle by external means
- loss to parked vehicle due to flood, earthquake, aog perils
This information is hidden to customers until they purchase the policy / contact for claim.
My concern is:
1. If the protection add on is limited to 3 conditions only - why it is not mentioned (*terms & conditions apply) anywhere at the time of renewal / purchasing the policy on the first page itself? (Pfa the screenshot)
2. The conditions are not mentioned on the final "payment" as well. (Pfa the screenshot)
3. How would a customer come to know about these conditions?
By doing this, is hdfc ergo not misleading / misguiding the customers? Are these not fraudulent services?
