HDFC Bank — Hdfc employs goons under pseudo names, to, threaten harass bully customers

Hi, I have Hdfc credit card since 2006. I was a good customer so they kept upgrading my limits.
I'm suffering from many chronic ailments for about 8 years which resulted in me unfit for work. I left job about 2 years back and have high medical expenses.
Since 2015 my payments became irregular because of no employment. However, I tried to make the payments whenever possible. I explained the matter to the telecalling deptt and explained the matter. They were insensitive, harsh, target is their main concern. They had no humanity at all. I tried to pay off as much as I could but it was impossible due to huge hikes in interests each month. They don't want to settle at all.
They called for settlement where they asked for an exorbitant amount. I told them that I had already paid many times more than I used but it never ends. They were forcing me to use the card by making full payment. They called used abusive languages. I was very sick in 2016 hence, I stopped accepting their calls.
My friends and family was ready to lend some money to end this matter once and for all so in Feb' 2017, I sent a registered mail to HDFC main branch office in Kolkata to pay onetime settlement amount and end this abusive relationship with HDFC for ever.
They sent me a letter from Lok Adalat in March' 2017. I was hearing and reading a lot of extortion behaviour of Hdfc bank. People said they are employing goons and they are extortionists. A relative of mine had agreed to represent my case. She stated my condition and the amount we can pay as one time payment. Hdfc bank lawyer said he will get back to her and took her number.
Instead, the next month(ie. April) onwards, I started getting calls from Hdfc recovery agents from different numbers. They had no idea about all these developments with the bank. I explained them the scenario and offered what I can pay. They kept calling repeatedly inspite of me telling them that I was unwell and I need rest. They were forcing me to immediatly pay the entire amount and use the card irrespective of my problems. They said they will backlist all the members of my house so that no body can ever get any loan.

I requested for their email address which they did not give. The caller gave pseudo name. They will not fix any appointment in their office for negotiation (I doubt they have any office). They only want agents to visit my house for negotiation. They would not also send emails or mails in this regard. I strongly refused against it. They threatened me and used obscene languages. I filed a GD.
This month, ie, May'17, I received a letter from a settlement partner of HDFC to meet them in office this month for settlement. I was ready for it. However, 5 days before the said meeting, the goons in the name of recovery agent appeared and started harassing us to the utmost obscene way. They had no idea about the mail from Hdfc. They wanted the money that very day and they created scenes and said they will do so till entire amount is paid. I told my situation and quoted my amount that I can honour. They were not ready to compromise. I told that they won't go to court or allow me to reach the court. The amount has to be closed by May'17 itself. They said they have nothing like customer distress policy.
I raised the issue to the notice of Hdfc bank main office branch, Kolkata. I received no aknowledgement mail from HDFC. I sincerly co-operated with the bank.

I settled with Sbi credit card with only one mail and a phone call. I received settlement letter from SBI within 3 months though I started conversing with HDFC much longer before talking to SBI.

I'm stuck with this inhuman unprofessional bank, HDFC Bank for many months now.

My observations, which I'm sure many will agree, are-

1)This bank seems to have the culture of collecting money even from the dead.
2)They never send aknowledgement mails on receipt of registered mails.
3)There is serious lack of communication between departments, even if they are related to them.
4)This bank is governed by the policy of only extorting money by threats and by goons who work under the direct payroll or contractual role or under the payroll of other agencies in the name of HDFC.
5)The goons under the cover of recovery agents use pseudo names to avoid identification.
6)The recovery agents/ goons presents misinterpreted/ doctored reports of the customers to the bank.
7)When they see they are not getting what they want, they use threats, misinformation, obscene, abusive languages.
8)The bank officials are aware of these things. They give shelter to these goons.
