I have applied for a personal loan and the agent told that the interest rate would be 10.25% since I am doing a balance transfer of my earlier loan from another bank. After getting the loan it was given with 10.5% and I got cheated by the agent or the bank. Before applying the loan I also told them that I will be paying partial payment and there should not be any charges. Then the agents told me that since the amount is greater than 10 Lakhs it comes under golden edge offer and there won't be any partial payment charges. But when I visited the bank to do a partial payment, came to know that there will be 4.72% partial payment charges on whatever the amount I am willing to pay. Since I have already raised it by calling customer care. And I got an email saying that nothing can be done as I need to provide "any written proof given by bank agents stating the interest rate and about part payment charges", which I don't have. So, I feel helpless and very dissatisfied with HDFC bank and trying to move away from it for any service/product in present and future. You can first investigate on these points: 1. Why the loan has not been logged under golden edge offer (which has no part payment charges) even though the amount is 27 lakhs which is pretty high than required (10 Lakhs) to be eligible for golden edge. 2. Why the interest rate was taken as 10.5% instead of 10.25% even though I have done a balance transfer from other bank loan. (I still keep getting Calls/SMS from HDFC saying the interest rate is 10.25% for BT loans).
