[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Salary Freeze

This is with reference to my HDFC A/c [protected], which was opened as a salary account by my employer Asian Heart Institute -Mumbai on 04th March 2021. An amount of Rs.44, 684.98/- were blocked by the recovery department of HDFC and later an amount of Rs 36, 887/- was debited from my account, without any prior intimation with reflecting balance of negative -7, 797.98on 7th October 2021.

On enquiring from the phone banking department of HDFC, I was told that there might be a long pending outstanding payment against Credit Card for which the said amount was debited from my salary account, when asking about the statement for the transaction made the customer service executive says he don't access to suspended card and only collection team can provide the details to which he has arranged a call back from collection team to which i also got a called and the collection guy called Sonu Singh he also confirmed that the card has been suspended since last 3 years, so i asked him why I have been getting nonpayment call when there isn't any due to which he also said he will arrange a call back by another concern team as he also don't have access to suspended account statements All I am asking for a statement to see what is the outstanding for which i haven been charged if there is any i am ready to pay if any transaction where made.

I had a credit card from HDFC Bank which was not in use by me for the past 3 years. The last outstanding on that card was Rs. 1, 500/- ( as per my record) against a transaction of grocery purchase, which I had already made the payment on the due date also had informed the customer service agent to block the credit card as I am not using it anymore and will be moving abroad, to which the agent also confirm that it will be block with in few working days. After a few months, Some recovery agents started to call my family and started to harass them regarding nonpayment of outstanding due as the mobile number was used by my Mom (since i was out of the country). I did not expect this kind of behavior with HDFC Bank with whom I have been banking for the last 4 years, that too after making regular payments.

This is absolute harassment to the customer. The account from which this amount was debited is my salary account and this kind of act from your end is illegal. It is like a theft from my account from your recovery department. I maintained a certain balance in my account just because I had to make a payment to someone which was also stuck because of this unprofessional act of HDFC. If it had been another bank's account, were you able to touch it. Just because it was an HDFC account, you simply barged into my account and debited it. This is a highly unprofessional and unfair act from your end. Such kind of harassment was not expected from HDFC Bank, which is India's leading bank and boasts on its customer service.

It would be helpful if this issue is investigated as early as possible and resolved.
