After getting sick and tired of 'special offers' for my company, I finally gave in and opted for HDFC credit card. All the documents were given and I received 4 verification calls. All the information too was promptly given. There were no updates regarding the card at any point and finally when the card came (I never thought it would!), my surname was spelt wrongly. I do not understand why such a basic information was goofed up. I contacted the Customer care and she told me that I would have to write an application stating the problem and give the letter at the nearest branch. When I told her that it is HDFC's problem and they should get it rectified instead, she put me on hold (a way of tackling 'pesky' customers who will soon get bored listening to the music and hang up). Request HDFC to either issue me a card with my proper name or return back my papers. I will NOT be doing the running from pillar to post business.
