HDFC Bank — Unwanted charges from my account because of the lack of information, which was not provided to me at the time of opening the bank account.

Hi,

I would like to know the process of closure of bank account and cancellation of credit card, because i am not happy with service provided and the information which was not discussed with me.
When I opened the HDFC bank account I was told that this account is a zero balance account. But no one told me that I will have to keep 10, 000 balance if salary is not coming to this account. Because of this reason 515.25 RS were deducted from my account three times in the month of march. I also didn't got any intimation from your side that the account is converted to saving account and I will have to maintain 10, 000 balance. So this kind of behavior is not proper in any sense. It will be rude if I will say that this is one kind of cheating. So stop cheating innocent people like me.

I am not satisfied with the explanation given by you people. And I know you people wants to hide this explanation form others, that's why I got a unicast response from you. Can you please tell that this is the proper response. You are telling that without any intimation you can do whatever you want. Means you can also withdraw all my money. The special facilities offered on the Salary Account is pursuant to the arrangement between the employer / company and the Bank. These benefits are extended by virtue of your employment in the organization, on whose request the account is opened with the bank and subject to regular salary credit.
In the event of no salary credits in the Salary Account for any continuous three months, the Bank reserves the right to change the status of Salary Account to Savings Regular Account without any intimation to the account holder/me and the Terms & Conditions as applicable to the HDFC Bank Savings Regular Account shall apply to this account from the date of change of status. The Terms & Conditions and features applicable to Savings Regular Account are published on the website of the Bank.

Since the charges are charges as per schedule we regret our inability to refund the same and you need to forward you will have to maintain the requisite AQB Of Rs 10, 000 in your Savings Bank account failing which the Bank will levy AQB non-maintenance charges as applicable.
