[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Worst Customer Service for Classic Customer from HDFC

I am really surprised to see the customer service level of HDFC Bank. According to them, Classic customers get some additional benefits. But it's just for saying and some calls from personal bankers regarding loans, credit card etc. They don't help or treat their classic customers at all. I am raising this complain for the credit card issue. Due to my work, I need to change my place often. The HDFC card division needs to update customer's address to get an updated card if someone change their place. My credit card's expiry month was August and I thought to update my address in advanced and so I sent one mail to their Credit Card division on April first week. I did not get any notification from them regarding the receiving of the letter. So, I sent them one email on April 21st asking about the status of my application (reference number for the e-mail: [protected] ). On 22nd April I got replay saying there was some signature issue and I need to send the application again. They also sent me two forms and I filled up those two forms and sent them again on 29th April. Since they took so much time to acknowledge the receipt of first application (which is really wired), I informed them in advanced regarding my 2nd application. On May 10th I got one email from them saying my new address is updated in their database and all future correspondence will be forwarded to the amended address only. They also wrote as - "We observe that we are not in receipt of the written instructions for re-despatch of your upgraded credit card. Due to security reasons, we would be unable to process your instructions through e-mail / scanned attachment received at our end. We request you to send us duly signed letter seeking reissuance of your credit card to enable us to send the credit card to the new mailing address." Now, this is the worst and ignorance replay from them which I was not expecting. I already sent application twice and still they are saying they did not get any written instructions and I need to send application once more. I have few questions to HDFC Card division - 1. Who asked you to upgrade my credit card? (The new card will charge me[protected] if I don't spend 400000 yearly) 2. Why did you block my first credit card without even updating my address? Would you take all the headache for me now? 3. How come it took more than 20 days to update me that my first application was rejected due to signature issue? Isn't it your responsibility to inform me in advanced? At least before you block my credit card? 4. Why can't you arrange some easy ways for customers to update the details? Why should I waste 80 Rs and time sending application to Card division in Chennai? You have so many branches in around the country. Then, why can't you do this small steps and provide some easy solutions to customers? 5. You say your phone banking and Internet banking is too much secure. In fact, we can do all transaction through both of them. Then how come changing address for a new Credit Card through Net banking or Phone Banking is not so secure for you? 6. Why you advertise as you give more preference to your Classic customers? Instead of harassing your classic customers, it would be better if you serve them properly. It's like classic customers are just an easy way to do telemarketing. So far I did not get better service from the personal banker other than loans offer or something else that would make more money for you. To all HDFC Bank people, please don't think I am raising this complain in a hope of fixing your worst system. I am just doing this so that other person can learn a lesson from me. I am just not getting one thing - you people offer too much incentives to your employee to get a new customer either for your Credit card or for one normal bank account. Then when one person becomes your customer, why don't you provide support? What happens to your mind then? [I still remember about getting too much call from your employees asking to take a new car. It was when I just started my job in a MNC.] Anyway, I am going to close my both accounts and my wife's account as well. In fact, long back I asked my personal banker for a home loan and she said that I would get call from my nearest brace. It's funny that till now I never get any call. Finally, I took home loan from other bank. Also, it's better to do business in other bank who treat their customers properly. I usually prefer private bank because of the service level. But sadly, you people are same like other worst service providers. Honestly saying, HDFC needs to employ person who do their duty properly. I have been a customer from 2008 and I would have happy if I could have taken the loan from HDFC itself. And possibly more transactions in coming days. Not sure how many people have patience to send same application 3 times and asked more than 3 times for a home loan info. India is developing and you need to fire all those sleeping buffaloes and hire some really active person. Hope then someone else don't have to wait 20 days to get an update and send application 3 times.
