Hitachi — Defective Unit Shipped and 2000 extortion for replacement

We installed a new A/C 2 months back which did not start. When we asked the unit to be replaced since it was a defective unit where screws were missing and and rewiring etc ws done, we were told that Hitachi does not manufacture this product anymore and that we will need to give another 2000 Rs extra to get a new replacement after nearly 50 calls
