I have bought one of the best selling car, i20 sports plus(DT) on 20/02/2019.On Wednesday (16.10.2020), the car suddenly got stopped in the middle of the busy highway and upon calling customer care, the car was towed down to nearby Akash Hyundai, Guwahati. Yesterday, I got a call from Akash Hyundai regarding the problem I have have faced. I was told that there was a problem with the clutch master cylinder of the car. Since my car was within the 3 yrs warranty period, I asked them about the same. But to my surprise they told me that I have to pay Rs. 8000 for the repairing the clutch.And if I want warranty coverage then I have to take my car to some other hyundai service centre at my own cost. I was also told that cars in this segment have this issue and there is lack of availability of parts.And it might take several days for it to get repaired.
On hearing that I called up the customer care and told the entire issue.But I was shocked to know when they told me that the above mentioned Akash Hyundai is not even listed as a service centre. If that's the case, then why they took my car to an unlisted service centre? Why are they charging me for the parts that are covered under warranty?
Is there any manufacturing defect with the car??Was it worth to pay 8.5 lakhs for a car which just broke down within 2.5 years of its purchase?
My wife is in her third trimester of pregnancy and emergency might occur at any moment. As such, I requested for a standby car as well.
I even wrote several mails to the higher authorities regarding this but no revert from their end were received for that matter.
Is this harassment necessary?
A quick resolution is expected asap.
