[Resolved] Idea Cellular — disruption in service | |||
To [protected]@idea.adityabirla.com Today at 9:38 PM I have received no reply to my message of October 23. To say the least, your behaviour has been most strange and unpardonable. On the night of October 17-18, I saw two strange messages--the first one saying that my request for Barring had been received and that it would be activated within six hours, the second saying that it had been activated. Thereafter I could neither receive nor make any call--nor send or receive any message-- from my IDEA number. This was in Istanbul, Turkey, Till then, as I have international roaming facilities on my connection, I had been receiving and making calls on my mobile since leaving India for Turkey on October 1. I found my service working again on boarding the flight from Istanbul to Chicago on October 18 afternoon. I thought that my messages--though shown as not sent--had somehow reached and my service had been reactivated. The service continued to work until October 22 evening when suddenly I could neither make or receive calls nor send or receive messages. My mobile showed "No service". All this has left me both perplexed and angry. How could IDEA say that it had received from me a message asking for Barring when I had sent nothing of the sort? If I had not sent the message, who had? If the second is the case, how could the person or entity send a message on my mobile? Also, if this is the case, IDEA had completely failed to maintain the integrity of safety of my service. This, in turn, has very serious implications because I write on national security and send to and receive messages from key people. Please look into the matter immediately and take necessary corrective measures, including resuming my service immediately with a message to this effect.
